Spondias mombin L. is a Brazilian tree belonging to the family Anacardiaceae and popularly known as “cajá”, the genus is well known by the various exotic fruit species such as “siriguela” (S. purpurea), “umbu” (S. tuberosa) and “umbu-cajá” (S. bahiensis).
