Polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAH) are products of incomplete combustion of biomass and fossil fuels, that are produced on a larger scale by anthropogenic sources. Burning sugarcane plantations can be a source of atmospheric PAH in regions where this culture predominates.
