Abstract : This article attempts to describe the forms school life assumes in contexts of urban poverty, attending specifically to bodily ways of being in school, investigating the ways through which students inhabit space and school time from the perspective of Embodiment: the embodied experience as a starting point for analyzing human participation in the cultural world.
