La consolidación del programa adaptacionista

What we call today the adaptationist program did not play a prominent role in the Evolutionary Biology developed in the xixth century, and during the first four decades of the xxth century. Until 1940, only studies on animal colorations, fundamentally of insects, were oriented by an adaptationist agenda. During the period 1940-1970, with the developments of ecological genetics of populations and evolutionary ecology this program gained clearer profiles and became consolidated.
