ABSTRACT The tick Rhipicephalus (Boophilus) microplus (Canestrini, 1887) (Acari: Ixodidae) causes large economic losses to cattle breeders and its control is hampered by problems of resistance to the main commercial synthetic acaricides and the risk of residues in animal products.
