Eleutherinone, a novel fungitoxic naphthoquinone from Eleutherine bulbosa (Iridaceae)

The dichloromethane extract prepared from the underground parts of Eleutherine bulbosa (Miller) Urban (Iridaceae) showed strong activity in the direct bioautography assay with the phytopathogenic fungus Cladosporium sphaerospermum.
