Abstract This article is focused on the meanings of work that are contextualized in the process of independent migration of Brazilian women in Barcelona (Spain), and in the overqualification as a signifier of their work situation. The particularity of these circumstances involves taking into account both, structural and subjective aspects. Thus, the analysis is based on social identification and identity regarding work.
