Effect of antibacterial agents on the surface hardness of a conventional glass-ionomer cement

In atraumatic restorative treatment (ART), caries removal with hand excavation instruments is not as efficient as that with rotary burs in eliminating bacteria under the glass ionomer cements (GICs).
