The objective of this paper was to study the effect of pH, concentration and ionic species on the water absorption of the bionanocomposite hydrogels based on carboxymethylcellulose polysaccharide and laponite nanoclay. Bionanocomposite hydrogels were obtained via free radical polymerization.
