1. Iron Nitrate Modified Cotton and Polyester Textile Fabric Applied for Reactive Dye Removal from Water Solution
In this work, we investigated the use of cotton scraps in natura and modified with iron nitrate, in the adsorption of one of the main water contaminants of the textile industries, the reactive black dye. Special attention was paid to the appropriate destination of the spent adsorbent, in compliance with the precepts of the circular economy. Cotton and polyes

2. Bond strength evaluation between textiles reinforced mortar with carbon nanotubes and concrete substrate
Abstract The influence of using carbon nanotubes to improve bond strength between textiles reinforced mortar and concrete was investigated. Forty-two specimens were tested using double-shear test to evaluate the effect of various parameters such as CNTs addition, type of textile material, bond length and width, and number of TRM layers on the bond behavior.

3. Assessment of coconut fibers for textile applications
ABSTRACT Brazil is the fourth larger producer in coconut fruit in the world. However, the industry processes only a small portion of coconut byproducts, which have caused serious environmental problems. The purpose of this article is to test an alternative for the recovery of coconut byproduct. In a series of experiments, recovered coconut fibers (coir) were

6. Diallel analysis and inbreeding depression in agronomic and technological traits of cotton genotypes
ABSTRACT Cotton provides about 90% of the world textile fiber, and is one of the crops of greater industrial relevance. The objectives of this study were to estimate the inbreeding depressionand the genetic effects involved in the control of the agronomic andfiber quality traits in F1 and F2 generations and to identify promising hybrids for obtaining superio

7. Production and Characterization of Activated Carbon Fiber from Textile PAN Fiber
ABSTRACT: This paper presents the preparation and characterization of carbon fiber felt and activated carbon fiber felt from textile polyacrylonitrile fiber. Carbon fibers are usually related to aircraft manufacturing or high mechanical purposes. Activated carbon fibers are known as excellent adsorbent materials. Despite all advantages, carbon fiber and acti

8. The influence of heat treatment on the quality of screen printed textile substrates
ABSTRACT During exploitation, textile products printed with screen printing technique are quite often exposed to various influences, one of which is a heat treatment- firstly during the production process and later on when ironing. Heat is simultaneously affecting deposited colorants (ink) on the surface of the substrate material, as well as textile fibers i

9. A study on the functional properties of silk and polyester / lyocell mixed fabric
ABSTRACT Silk is one of the valuable fibers in textile industry. It is used for delicate applications in many areas such as sarees, suitings, curtains and luxurious interiors. To diversify the properties and usages silk is mixed with polyester and lyocell. The fabric is dyed with natural dyes (kum kum, indigo, barberry) as well as synthetic dyes (reactive dy

10. Characterization of Fibers from Pineapple's Crown, Rice Husks and Cotton Textile Residues
Fibers from pineapple's crown (PCF), rice husks (RH) and cotton textile residues (RTF) were characterized by SEM, X-ray diffraction, FTIR and thermogravimetric analysis. Moisture content, water absorption, density and the distribution of the diameter of the fibers were also evaluated. RTF showed cylindrical microstructure with smooth surface, PCF showed cell

11. Desenvolvimento de métodos para determinação de aminas aromáticas em amostras têxteis por eletroforese capilar / Development of methodology for determination of aromatic amines in textiles matrices by capillary electrophoresis

12. Influence of thermal treatment on porosity formation on carbon fiber from textile PAN
Activated carbon fibers (ACFs) are known as an excellent adsorbent material due to their particular characteristics such as their high speed adsorption rate and for being easy to handle. The ACFs are commercially manufactured from carbon fibers (CF) which receive an additional activation process and can be produced from celluloses, phenolic resin, pitch and
