1. Identification key for the Brazilian species and subspecies of the family Ilyocryptidae (Crustacea, Branchiopoda, Anomopoda)
Abstract In recent years, an increase in knowledge about the diversity and biogeography of Brazilian Cladocera fauna has been evident. To keep up with these changes, it is opportune to carry out an update of the taxonomy and biogeography for the main cladoceran groups. Since 2008, some progress has been observed in Ilyocryptidae, with reports of four new tax

2. The evolution and distribution of noxious species of scorpions (Arachnida: Scorpiones)
Abstract This contribution attempts to bring some general information on the evolution and, in particular, on the geographic distribution of scorpion species noxious to humans. Since 95% of the scorpions incidents are generated by specimens of the family Buthidae C. L. Koch, the analysis will be limited to this familial group. As in previous similar contribu

3. Sistemática e filogenética molecular do gênero Hexachlamys (Myrtaceae) através do uso de marcadores plastidiais e nucleares
Myrtaceae family includes more than 5500 species of trees and shrubs, mainly distributed in tropical and subtropical areas of the world. Species of this family have great ecological significance in forest ecosystems, and they are also economically important to the pharmaceutical, food, cosmetic and perfumery industries. The systematic of this family is very

4. Filogenia Molecular das Jabuticabas: Elucidando relações evolutivas e identidade genérica de um fruto genuinamente brasileiro.
The jabuticabas (or jaboticabas) are much appreciated fruits in Brazil especially in the Southwestern and Central-western states where they are always present in gardens and orchards. They are essentially Brazilian fruits, infrequently cultivated in other countries. Although its production is essentially non-commercial, large amounts of these fruits are cons

5. Phylogenetic relationships of the species of the Rineloricaria Bleeker, 1862 (Siluriformes, Loricariidae, Loricariinae) / Relações filogenéticas das espécies do gênero Rineloricaria Bleeker, 1862 (Siluriformes, Loricariidae, Loricariinae)
The species of Rineloricaria are typical members of Loricariinae subfamily, family Loricariidae, traditionally characterized by the presence of odontodes covering the body, strongly depressed body and absence of adipose fin. Rineloricaria comprises 65 nominal species and it is the most speciesrich genus in the subfamily Loricariinae. Previous phylogenetic st

6. Filogenia do complexo Caladieae-zomicarpeae (araceae) baseada em seqüências do DNA plastidial
The complex Caladieae-Zomicarpeae is composed by the genera Zomicarpa, Zomicarpella, Ulearum, Filarum, Hapaline, Scaphispatha, Caladium, Jasarum, Xanthosoma, Chlorospatha and Syngonium. The complex has an essentially Neotropical distribution, with the sole exception of the Asian genera Hapaline. The group contains elements of moderate economic importance, as

7. Viguiera Kunth (Asteraceae, Heliantheae) on South America and systematic of species from Brasil / Viguiera Kunth (Asteraceae, Heliantheae) na América do Sul e sistemática das espécies do Brasil.
This study presents a taxonomic review of the species Viguiera Kunth that occur in Brazil, and includes descriptions, illustrations, distribution maps and comments. Identification keys are also provided for related groups and to the South American species. The leaf anatomy study supplied new subsidies for the delimitation of the species or of species groups.

8. Endemic acinetobacter in intensive care units: epidemiology and clinical impact.
AIMS--To assess whether Acinetobacter isolates obtained over 20 months in a tertiary care hospital were epidemiologically related; to establish the clinical importance of the organisms; and to identify the isolates according to the recent taxonomy. METHODS--Fifty eight Acinetobacter isolates from 49 patients collected during 1984 and 1985 were investigated.

9. Intraspecific Phylogeny and Lineage Group Identification Based on the prfA Virulence Gene Cluster of Listeria monocytogenes
Listeria monocytogenes is a serious food-borne pathogen that can cause invasive disease in humans and other animals and has been the leading cause of food recalls due to microbiological concerns in recent years. In order to test hypotheses regarding L. monocytogenes lineage composition, evolution, ecology, and taxonomy, a robust intraspecific phylogeny was d
