1. Effect of Rolling Reduction and Temperature on the Oxide Scale of Hot Rolled Mild Steel Strip
Hot rolling experiments were designed to investigate the effect of rolling temperature and rolling deformation on microstructure, thickness and surface red scale of hot rolled mild steel oxide scale by spectrometer, SEM and pickling experiment. The research results show that in the same other experiment conditions, the greater the rolling deformation, the th

2. Microstructure and Mechanical Properties of Severely Deformed Mg-4.5Al-1.0Zn Alloy Processed by Asymmetric Rolling on Ingot and Twin Roll Cast Strip
The twin roll cast Mg-4.5Al-1.0Zn alloy sheets, processed by asymmetric rolling and subsequent annealing were investigated. The asymmetric rolling on Mg-4.5Al-1.0Zn ingot was also studied for comparison in terms of microstructure, texture and mechanical properties of the sheets. The results can be summarized as follows. The rolled sheets show intensively def

3. Deformation induced precipitation in an industrial Ti microalloyed dual phase steel
Abstract This study evaluated the influence of plastic deformation during hot strip rolling in the size of TiN precipitates in an industrial Ti microalloyed dual phase steel. TiN is usually used for pinning austenitic grain boundaries during recrystallization and its efficiency depends on factors such as size of the precipitates and Ti precipitated fraction.

4. Texture analysis of cold rolled and annealed aluminum alloy produced by twin-roll casting
A 7.4 mm thick strip of 3003 aluminum alloy produced by the industrial twin-roll casting (TRC) process was homogenized at 500 °C for 12 hours, after which it was cold rolled in two conditions: 1) to reduce the strip's thickness by 67%, and 2) to reduce it by 91%. The alloy was annealed at 400 °C for 1 hour in both conditions. The results revealed that a ro

5. Numerical and experimental analysis of lubrication in strip cold rolling
In this work an analytical model based on the slab method was built to analyze the lubrication during cold rolling of aluminum strips. Some process variables were studied like the rolling speed, the cross-section reduction, and lubricant viscosity. Numerical results are presented for pressure variation and film thickness at the inlet and work zones. The load

6. Effect of processing parameters on scale formation during hot steel strip rolling
The influence of processing parameters (slab thickness, water flow of interstand cooling and oil flow in roll gap lubrication system) on the thickness and composition of the tertiary scale formed during hot strip rolling, was studied in a low carbon steel in factory. The scale formed on the rolled surface was characterized by scanning electron microscopy and

7. Desenvolvimento de acabamento rolled-on em aço inoxidável
Different kinds of finishes exist for steels, a new one known Rolled-On (RO) could show with different surfaces patterns, with different roughness and gloss. This work presents the development of the RO finishes in 439 stainless steel with 1,5mm thick. This new finishes will be produced to substitute the grindings finishes. A RO finishes is obtained using a

8. Caracterizações de propriedades microestruturais e mecânicas de ligas AA 1100 e AA 5052 processadas pela técnica de laminação acumulativa ("Accumulated Roll Bonding - ARB"). / Characterization of microestrutural and mechanical properties from AA1100 and AA5052 alloys that were processed by Accumulated Roll Bonding - ARB.
The present work is related to the production, in a laboratory scale, of a metallic microstructure having a grain size smaller than one micrometer, through the Accumulated Roll Bonding technique(ARB), for two different aluminum alloys, namely AA 1100 and AA 5052. The strips obtained by the ARB technique have been characterized by their mechanical properties

11. Analysis of roll stack deflection in a hot strip mill
Predictive models are required to provide the bending set point for bending for the flatness control devices at rolling stands of finishing mill of Hot Strip Mill (HSM). A simple model for roll stack deflection at the finishing mill has been illustrated where a modified Misaka’s equation has been used to obtain mean flow-stress. Investigation has been perf
