O resseg

2. Wide Band Stop Response Using Interdigital Capacitor/CSRR DGS in Elliptical Microstrip Low-Pass Filter
Abstract In this paper, a compact elliptic-response microstrip low pass filter (LPF) is presented with a wide stop-band using stepped impedance resonators. With high attenuation in the stop-band, the overall size reduction of the proposed filter is achieved using a novel defected ground structure technique using an interdigital capacitor and complementary sp

4. Staying in the labor force among patients with rheumatoid arthritis and associated factors in Southern Brazil
Abstract Background: Rheumatoid arthritis primarily affects the working-age population and may cause key functional and work limitations. As the disease progresses, individuals become increasingly unable to conduct daily activities, which has a substantial personal and socioeconomic impact. Fairly recent prior studies showed that patients with RA stop worki

5. MULTI-AGENT BASED MODELING APPLIED TO PORTFOLIO SELECTION IN THE DOOM-LOOP OF SOVEREIGN DEBT CONTEXT*
ABSTRACT This study explores the self-fulfilling dynamic between sovereign debt risk and rational choices of neutral, risk-seeking and risk-averse investors, with implications to the systemic risk emergence. The agent-based model parameterization includes investment strategy (randomly selected assets, stock exchange participation, economic segment, and techn

7. Microstrip Hybrid Coupler with a Wide Stop-Band Using Symmetric Structure for Wireless Applications
Abstract In this paper, a wide stop-band microstrip coupler is presented. The proposed structure consists of coupled lines and step impedance cells, which are integrated to operate at 2.82 GHz for wireless applications. This coupler is formed by a symmetric structure so that the locations of the output ports relative to input are quite similar. Accordingly,

8. Study and Assessment of the Efficiency of the Cocoa Bark Extracted from the Theobroma Cacao as an Inhibitor of the Corrosion of Carbon Steel in Substitution of Benzotriazole
Corrosion represents high losses to the economy, therefore, researches on the minimization of its damages in materials, mainly the metallic ones, are necessary. Among the various alternatives of protection against corrosion, there is the application of corrosion inhibitors that can minimize or even stop the corrosive process of metallic materials. However, a

9. Compact Microstrip Low-pass Filter with Wide Stop-band Using P-Shaped Resonator
Abstract This paper, a compact low-pass filter (LPF) with an Elliptic function response using P-shaped resonators is presented. The LPF with simple structure results in the low insertion loss less than 0.1 dB and high return loss better than 20 dB, in the pass-band. The proposed filter with a −3 dB cutoff frequency of 2.61 GHz is fabricated and measured. T

10. Mutational and acquired carbapenem resistance mechanisms in multidrug resistant Pseudomonas aeruginosa clinical isolates from Recife, Brazil
An investigation was carried out into the genetic mechanisms responsible for multidrug resistance in nine carbapenem-resistant Pseudomonas aeruginosaisolates from different hospitals in Recife, Brazil. Susceptibility to antimicrobial agents was determined by broth microdilution. Polymerase chain reaction (PCR) was employed to detect the presence of genes enc

11. Design of Frequency Selective Band Stop Shield Using Analytical Method
Abstract In this article, a high-order frequency selective band-stop EMC (electromagnetic compatibility) shield is designed using multilayer square loop while each loop resonates at the specific desired frequency. The glass material is picked out as the preferred substrate for the designing process. In contrast to the computationally intensive numerical appr

12. Novel splice-affecting variants in CYP27A1 gene in two Chilean patients with Cerebrotendinous Xanthomatosis
Cerebrotendinous Xanthomatosis (CTX), a rare lipid storage disorder, is caused by recessive loss-of-function mutations of the 27-sterol hydroxylase (CYP27A1), producing an alteration of the synthesis of bile acids, with an accumulation of cholestanol. Clinical characteristics include juvenile cataracts, diarrhea, tendon xanthomas, cognitive impairment and ot
