4. O cineasta historiador: o humor frio no filme Sábado, de Ugo Giorgetti / Filmmaker historian: the cold humor in the film Sábado by Ugo Giorgetti

5. A presença inglesa no Brasil e sua influência nas obras de escritores brasileiros do século XIX / The English presence in Brazil and its influence in the workmanships of Brazilian writers of century XIX
No Brasil

7. Functional Cloning of Bacillus anthracis Dihydrofolate Reductase and Confirmation of Natural Resistance to Trimethoprim
Bacillus anthracis is reported to be naturally resistant to trimethoprim (TMP), a drug that inhibits dihydrofolate reductase (DHFR), a key enzyme in the folate pathway. A microdilution broth assay established that the MIC of TMP for B. anthracis Sterne is >2,048 but ≤4,096 μg/ml. A putative DHFR sequence was amplified from B. anthracis Sterne genomic DNA.

8. Nonproteolytic, Avirulent Bacillus anthracis as a Live Vaccine
Fubra, Ernest S. (Federal Department of Veterinary Research, Vom, Nigeria). Nonproteolytic, avirulent Bacillus anthracis as a live vaccine. J. Bacteriol. 91:930–933. 1966.—A nonproteolytic mutant, derived from the Sterne strain of Bacillus anthracis by exposure to ultraviolet radiation, was used for vaccination of guinea pigs. Vaccine prepared from the p

9. Effects of anthrax toxin components on human neutrophils.
The virulence of Bacillus anthracis has been attributed to a tripartite toxin composed of three proteins designated protective antigen, lethal factor, and edema factor. The effects of the toxin components on phagocytosis and chemiluminescence of human polymorphonuclear neutrophils were studied in vitro. Initially, it was determined that the avirulent Sterne

10. Macrophage-Enhanced Germination of Bacillus anthracis Endospores Requires gerS
Germination of Bacillus anthracis Sterne and plasmidless Δ-Sterne endospores was dramatically enhanced in RAW264.7 macrophage-like cells, while germination of nonpathogenic Bacillus endospores was not. Elimination of gerS, a germinant receptor locus, caused a complete loss of cell-enhanced germination, implicating gerS in the breaking of endospore dormancy

11. UV Resistance of Bacillus anthracis Spores Revisited: Validation of Bacillus subtilis Spores as UV Surrogates for Spores of B. anthracis Sterne
Recent bioterrorism concerns have prompted renewed efforts towards understanding the biology of bacterial spore resistance to radiation with a special emphasis on the spores of Bacillus anthracis. A review of the literature revealed that B. anthracis Sterne spores may be three to four times more resistant to 254-nm-wavelength UV than are spores of commonly u

12. Immunization against anthrax with aromatic compound-dependent (Aro-) mutants of Bacillus anthracis and with recombinant strains of Bacillus subtilis that produce anthrax protective antigen.
The safety and efficacy of five prototype, live anthrax vaccines were studied in Hartley guinea pigs and CBA/J and A/J mice. Two of the strains, Bacillus anthracis FD111 and FD112, are Aro- mutants derived by Tn916 mutagenesis of B. anthracis UM23-1. Bacillus subtilis PA1 and PA2 contain a recombinant plasmid, pPA101 or pPA102, respectively, that carries the
