2. Apparent chaos : graphical signals / Caos aparente : sinais graficos
In this dissertation, theory runs consciously through the volatile terrain of analysis toward the solid terrain of facts. The intention, models, references and attitude taken in constructing the artwork as well as the deeper working on the images provoked a reading of my work that is formulated in this dissertation. Besides the exhibit, this reading intends

3. Transformação genética de maracujá amarelo visando resistência à Xanthomonas axonopodis pv. passiflorae / Genetic transformation of yellow passion fruit to confer resistance to Xanthomonas axonopodis pv. passiflorae
Bacterial spot disease caused by Xanthomonas axonopodis pv. passiflorae is a serious problem in many passion fruit production areas in Brazil, especially if associated with anthracnose. Genetic transformation provides an alternative for obtaining resistant plants. Bactericide proteins such as attacins, found in the haemolymph of insects, have been used to co

4. A Combined Classical Genetic and High Resolution Two-Dimensional Electrophoretic Approach to the Assessment of the Number of Genes Affecting Hybrid Male Sterility in Drosophila Simulans and Drosophila Sechellia
We have attempted to estimate the number of genes involved in postzygotic reproductive isolation between two closely related species, Drosophila simulans and Drosophila sechellia, by a novel approach that involves the use of high resolution two-dimensional gel electrophoresis (2DE) to examine testis proteins in parents, hybrids and fertile and sterile backcr

5. Distribution of Antibodies to Streptococcal Esterases in Patients with Scarlet Fever
Repetitive counterelectrophoresis (RCE), which has been described (Hayano and Tanaka, 1977), was used to assay the contents of antibodies to streptococcal esterases (STE) in sera from patients with scarlet fever. The levels of antibodies to STE were expressed semiquantitatively by reading the intensity of the colored spot developed by RCE with a densitometer
