2. Algumas propriedades de ondas eletromagnéticas confinadas a guias de ondas constituídos por interfaces de isolantes topológicos / Some properties of electromagnetic waves confined to wave guides made of topological insulators interfaces

5. Seção de choque de absorção de buracos negros de Schwarzschild e de buracos acústicos canônicos / Section of shock of absorption of black holes of Schwarzschild and of canonical acoustic holes
In this dissertation we compute the absorption cross section of Schwarzschild black holes for the massless scalar and electromagnetic fields. We also compute the absorption cross section of canonical acoustic holes for sound waves. We use a numerical method to obtain the results in arbitrary frequencies. We also obtain analytic expressions for the low- and h

6. Microscopic theory of spin waves in magnetic nanowires / Teoria microscÃpica de ondas de spin em nanofios magnÃticos
The dynamical behavior of spins in magnetic materials is affected by its geometry and dimensionality. One can find several new results in the literature exploiting the magnetic properties of low dimension systems with different geometries, since the development of new devices such as: nanosensors, high density magnetic storage, etc., is closely related to ne

7. Ab Initio study of half-metallic feature and electronic structure of A2FeMoO6 (A=Ba,Ca) magnetic system
We report several ab initio calculations performed over the A2FeMoO6 (A=Ba, Ca) double perovskite. Results show that it is an insulator for the spin up orientation and conductor for the other one. We investigate the electronic structure of A2FeMoO6 by means calculations of density of states for both spin orientations, based on the Density Functional Theory a

In this work we investigate the charge and spin instabilities of a two-dimensional model (d=2) of strongly interacting electrons in the presence of a at Fermi surface (FS) by using the renormalization group theory (RG). Bearing in mind the strong electronic repulsions in the cuprates superconductors, we try to relate our model to the repulsive Hubbard model

We propose a phenomenological model based on the Ginzburg-Landau theory of phase transitions, that describes the thermodynamic behavior of charge and spin density waves present in high-Tc doped antiferromagnets. One of the current ideas, supported by recent neutron scattering measurements, is that doping introduces charge excess that accumulates on the antif

10. Conversão ressonante spin-sabor de neutrinos solares e flutuações magnetohidrodinamicas
We argue that solar neutrino observations should be sensitive to the magnetohydro-dynamics fluctuations in the Sun if the Resonant Spin-Flavor Precession mechanism is a solution to the Solar Neutrino Problem. Our calculations show the existence of global and localized magnetohydrodynamic waves with a period of the order of 1 to 10 days and we study their con

11. Sobre a teoria das ondas de spin / On the theory of Spin waves
The mathematical formalismo f the spin wave theory is analysed. The thermodynamical equivalence between the Dyson-Malleev and Holstein-Primakoff transformations is proved. The problems involving the kinematical interaction are also discussed in detail. A new splitting of the Heisenberg Hamiltonian, perfomed in configuration space, is used to study the spin w

12. Explicit Plancherel theorem for ground state representation of the Heisenberg chain
In its ground state representation, the infinite spin 1/2 Heisenberg chain provides a model for spin wave scattering that entails many features of the quantum mechanical N-body problem. Here, we give a complete eigenfunction expansion for the Hamiltonian of the chain in this representation, for all numbers of spin waves. Our results resolve the questions of
