1. Uso de nitrogênio no cultivo de arroz irrigado e seus efeitos no solo, na planta e na emissão de óxido nitroso / Use of nitrogen in the cultivation of rice and its effects on soil, lant and nitrous oxide emission
In wetland soils are countless electrochemical changes, among the most influenced by anaerobic conditions is nitrogen. The rice crop also determine changes in the process, either by the nutrient uptake or by changes in the rhizosphere. The nitrogen can guarantee high yields of rice, however, due to the inadequate use of nitrogen can have nitrous oxide, which

2. INTERMITTENT AND CONTINUOS FLOODING IN RICE: WATER USE, AGRONOMIC EFFICIENCY AND IMAZETHAPYR, IMAZAPIC AND FIPRONIL DISSIPATION / IRRIGAÇÃO CONTÍNUA E INTERMITENTE EM ARROZ IRRIGADO: USO DE ÁGUA, EFICIÊNCIA AGRONÔMICA E DISSIPAÇÃO DE IMAZETHAPYR, IMAZAPIC E FIPRONIL
Every anthropogenic activity causes environmental impact in some extent. Rice paddy fields area are pointed out as an activity with high potential of pollution due to the large amount of water used to maintain the flooding and the intensive use of pesticides and nutrients that can be transported to the environment. Though, there are other irrigation manageme

3. The Maize MADS Box Gene ZmMADS3 Affects Node Number and Spikelet Development and Is Co-Expressed with ZmMADS1 during Flower Development, in Egg Cells, and Early Embryogenesis1
MADS box genes represent a large gene family of transcription factors with essential functions during flower development and organ differentiation processes in plants. Addressing the question of whether MADS box genes are involved in the regulation of the fertilization process and early embryo development, we have isolated two novel MADS box cDNAs, ZmMA

4. The ANTHER INDEHISCENCE1 Gene Encoding a Single MYB Domain Protein Is Involved in Anther Development in Rice1
Using a two-element iAc/Ds transposon-tagging system, we identified a rice (Oryza sativa L. cv Nipponbare) recessive mutant, anther indehiscence1 (aid1), showing partial to complete spikelet sterility. Spikelets of the aid1 mutant could be classified into three types based on the viability of pollen grains and the extent of anther dehiscence. Type 1 spikelet

5. Quantitative Trait Loci Associated with Drought Tolerance at Reproductive Stage in Rice1
Drought is a major constraint to rice (Oryza sativa) yield and its stability in rainfed and poorly irrigated environments. Identifying genomic regions influencing the response of yield and its components to water deficits will aid in our understanding of the genetics of drought tolerance and development of more drought tolerant cultivars. Quantitative trait
