1. Experimental and Computational Studies of the Adsorption of Furan, Pyrrole, and Thiophene on Hydroxyapatites in a Single and Ternary Component
Non-doped (Hap) and doped hydroxyapatites with Cu2+ and Fe2+ were synthesized and used to study the adsorption of furan (Fur), pyrrole (Pyr), and thiophene (Thi) in single and ternary component systems. Spectroscopic data and N2 isotherms indicated there were no structural alterations in Hap with the incorporation of Cu2+ and Fe2+. For both single and ternar

3. Design, Synthesis, Trypanocidal Activity, and Studies on Human Album in Interaction of Novel S-Alkyl-1,2,4-triazoles
Chagas disease is a neglected tropical disease caused by the hemoflagellated parasite Trypanosoma cruzi (Kinetoplastida). The only available drug to treat chagasic patients in Brazil, the nitroheterocycle benznidazole, is effective solely during the acute phase of the infection. There is accordingly a need to develop new therapeutic tools for the treatment o

4. Dielectric and Raman spectroscopy studies of (Na0.5Bi0.5)TiO3 lead-free ceramic
Caracte

6. A Simple and High-yield Synthesis of Hexadecyl Ferulate and Its In Vitro Antioxidant Potential
ABSTRACT Ferulic acid (FA) is a phenolic compound with well-known antioxidant potential that can be used as a promising anti-inflammatory and anti-cancer molecule. Furthermore, it has been reported to have neuroprotective activity. One of the main problems, which limit its clinical use, is its low bioavailability when administered orally. This limitation can

7. Multiple Spectroscopic and Theoretical Approaches to Study the Interaction between HSA and the Antiparasitic Drugs: Benznidazole, Metronidazole, Nifurtimox and Megazol
The interaction between four antiparasitic drugs (benznidazole (BZL), metronidazole (MTZ), nifurtimox (NFX) and megazol (MZ)) with human serum albumin (HSA), the main vehicle of biodistribution of xenobiotics, hydrophobic, small and endogenous molecules in the bloodstream, was evaluated by multiple spectroscopic techniques and theoretical calculations. In al

8. Evaluation of Anticancer Activity of Extracted Flavonoids from Morus Alba Leaves and its interaction with DNA
ABSTRACT Morous Alba, known as white mulberry contains many oxidative flavonoids, widely used in the treatment of many diseases like hyperglycemia, inflammation, fever and cancer. In the present study we investigated the interaction of extracted flavonoids from Iranian Morus Alba leaves with DNA as a main target for anticancer drugs. Various spectroscopic te

9. Phytochemical study of Harrisia adscendens
ABSTRACT Harrisia adscendens (Gürke) Britton & Rose is a species of the family Cactaceae found in the northeastern semi-arid and popularly known as foxtail. In folk medicine, the roots of this species are used for the treatment of toothache and heartburn. The objective of this study was to perform the isolation and identification of the secondary metabolite

10. A HIGHLY SELECTIVE FLUORESCENT SENSOR FOR DETECTION OF TRIVALENT METAL IONS BASED ON A SIMPLE SCHIFF-BASE
A simple and easily synthesized fluorescent sensor L, based on condensation reaction of 1-Naphthylamine and terephthalaldehyde, was synthesized and characterized systemically. Both UV-vis and fluorescence spectroscopic studies indicated that the sensor L showed good selectivity toward trivalent metal ions (such as Al3+, Fe3+, Cr3+, La3+ and Ce3+) over other

12. The long and successful journey of electrochemically active amino acids. From fundamental adsorption studies to potential surface engineering tools.
ABSTRACT Proteins have been the subject of electrochemical studies. It is possible to apply electrochemical techniques to obtain information about their structure due to the presence of five electroactive amino acids that can be oriented to the outside of the peptidic chain. These amino acids are L-Tryptophan (L-Trp), L-Tyrosine (L-Tyr), L-Histidine (L-His),
