1. Talauma ovata St. Hil. seed conservation / Conservação de sementes de Talauma ovata St. Hil.
The research aimed to study the influence of the seed moisture content and storage temperature on Talauma ovata seed conservation. Thus, two seed lots with initial moisture content of 23.5% (lot 1) and 23.8% (lot 2) were dried and obtained tree moisture content levels in each lot, and the moisture contents were 17.4 %, 10.9% and 7.1% for lot 1 and 15.8%, 13.

2. Conservação de sementes de mamão em função da presença da sarcotesta, teor de água das sementes e tipo de embalagem / Papaya (Carica papaya L.) seeds conservation in relation to sarcotesta presence, seed moisture content and kind of package
This work was carried out in the Laboratory of Seeds Analysis in the Department of Fitotecnia at Federal University of Viçosa from March 2004 to November 2005, in order to evaluate the effect of sarcotesta presence, seed moisture content and kind of packaging on papaya seed conservation during storage. Papaya seeds from Formosa group, hybrid Tainung 01, dri

3. Conservation of Euterpe oleracea seeds / Conservação de sementes de açaí (Euterpe oleracea Mart.)
Seeds of Euterpe oleracea Mart. are considered recalcitrant and demand enlargement of the knowledge about the factors that interfere in its conservation. The present work aimed to verify the effects on seed moisture content and of the atmosphere temperature in the maintenance of seed quality. Seeds of cultivar BRS Pará, with moisture content of 43,4%, 37,4%

4. Optimization of annatto (Bixa orellana L.) drying in fixed bed
The drying of annatto seeds (Bixa orellana L.), red piave cultivate, was studied in a fixed bed dryer. The best conditions were estimated to minimize the loss of coloring and to obtain final moisture of the seeds in appropriate levels to its conservation and maintenance of quality. The quantification of the influence of entrance variables in the final conten
