1. Bell pepper rootstocks with multiple resistance to soilborne diseases
ABSTRACT Grafting has been increasingly used to overcome soilborne pathogens. The commercial rootstock hybrids AF-8253 (Sakata) and Fortaleza (Takii), as well as Embrapa’s new hybrid, BRS Acará, were evaluated as rootstocks for the bell pepper hybrids Margarita (Syngenta) and Pampa (Clause) as scions, under natural infestation of Ralstonia pseudosolanacea

2. Guava seedlings with rootstocks or interstocks and their reaction to salinity
ABSTRACT The introduction of rootstocks for the guava has become necessary due to the advance of guava decline. Among them, Psidium spp. or their hybrids have been evaluated. In addition to disease resistance, tolerance to salinity must be evaluated in the new rootstocks. The aim of this study was to verify the effect of rootstocks and intergrafts on the min

3. Compatibility and horticultural performance of Pera sweet orange clones grafted to Swingle citrumelo rootstock
ABSTRACT Despite its interesting agricultural traits, Swingle citrumelo (Citrus paradisi Macfad. ‘Duncan’ × Poncirus trifoliata L. Raf.) rootstock exhibits severe incompatibility when grafted with Pera sweet orange [Citrus sinensis (L.) Osb.] scions, and this fact limits its use for propagation purposes. Nonetheless, the existence of certain Pera sweet

4. Spondias rootstock in the formation of seedlings of the yellow mombin

5. Maturation of early-ripening mandarin as affected by scion and rootstock cultivars in western Santa Catarina, Brazil
ABSTRACT In Santa Catarina, Brazil, ‘Satsuma Okitsu’ and the ‘common mandarin' (Citrus deliciosa Ten.) are the widely known mandarin varieties harvested earlier than 'Ponkan'. This study analyzed and compared the maturation evolution of early maturing mandarins in two rootstocks. The experiment had as treatments combinations of the scion cultivars SCS4

6. Quality and antioxidant potential of ‘BRS clara’ and ‘Arizul’ grapes influenced by rootstocks in a tropical region

7. Advances in fruit crop propagation in Brazil and worldwide-apple trees

8. ‘Navelina’ sweet orange trees on five rootstocks in Northern Parana state, Brazil

9. Identification of the Er1 resistence gene and RNase S-alleles in Malus prunifolia var. ringo rootstock
Woolly apple aphid (WAA; Eriosoma lanigerum Hausm.) is a major insect pest that has significant economic impact on apple growers worldwide. Modern breeding technologies rely on several molecular tools to help breeders select genetic determinants for traits of interest. Consequently, there is a need for specific markers linked to the genes of interest. Apple

10. Agronomic evaluation of 'Bordô' grapevine (Ives) clones
'Bordô' grapevines (Vitis labrusca) have great relevance to viticulture due to the quality they can impart to wines and juices. However, this cultivar has high variation in yield, ranging from 6 to 11 t ha-1. The use of clones with superior genetic potential related to scions currently marketed may increase crop profitability and revitalize its cultivation.

11. Rootstocks induce contrasting photosynthetic responses of orange plants to low night temperature without affecting the antioxidant metabolism
Low temperatures negatively impact the metabolism of orange trees, and the extent of damage can be influenced by the rootstock. We evaluated the effects of low nocturnal temperatures on Valencia orange scions grafted on Rangpur lime or Swingle citrumelo rootstocks. We exposed six-month-old plants to night temperatures of 20ºC and 8ºC under controlled condi

12. Comparison of Citrus tristeza virus (CTV) isolates by RFLP analysis of the coat protein nucleotide sequences and by the severity of the symptoms
Plants of Pera sweet orange on Rangpur lime rootstocks, from orchards of the northwest and north of Paraná state, Brazil, were evaluated for severity of symptoms and genetic diversity of Citrus tristeza virus. The severity of symptoms was evaluated by the development of tree, fruit size and stem pitting symptoms. Isolates that infect these plants were compa
