13. Avaliação prognóstica de portadores de sarcomas de partes moles nas extremidades submetidos a ressecções planejadas e não planejadas / Comparative study of planned and unplanned excisions for the treatment of soft tissue sarcoma of the extremities

15. New applications of radioguided surgery in oncology
OBJECTIVE: To report oncological cases (excluding those related to breast cancer) for which radioguided surgery has been used in combination with the Radioguided Occult Lesion Localization technique. INTRODUCTION: Radioguided surgery enables a surgeon to identify lesions or tissues that have been preoperatively marked with radioactive substances. The Radiogu

16. Renal sparing surgery for perirenal liposarcoma: 24 months recurrence free follow up
Liposarcoma is the most common pathology seen in the soft tissue sarcoma of retroperitoneum. These tumors have been traditionally treated with radical surgery sacrificing adjacent organs to achieve clear margins. We have reported our experience of renal sparing surgery for perirenal liposarcoma in two patients with more than 24 month disease free survival.

17. Functional evaluation of patients with bone sarcomas surgically treated by hemi or total endoprosthesis of the distal femur / Avaliação funcional dos pacientes portadores de sarcomas osseos submetidos ao tratamento cirurgico utilizando a endoprotese total ou parcial, na substituição da extremidade distal do femur
Introduction: Osteosarcoma and Ewing?s Sarcoma are the two most common malignant primary bone neoplasms in individuals under the age of 15 years. Limb sparing surgery is a recent method of treatment. The purpose of the study is to compare functional results of patients who underwent distal femur resection and reconstruction with a hemi or total knee endopros

INTRODUCTION: The term soft tissue sarcoma (STS) defines a heterogeneous group of extra-skeletal malignant neoplasms originated from the extra-skeletal mesenchymal tissues, representing 1% of all types of cancer. Surgery is the principal method of treatment and the indication of adjuvant treatment remains controversial and depends of the prognostic factors a

20. Clinical study of the effect of doxorubicin administration in feline injection-site sarcoma / Estudo clínico sobre o efeito da administração de doxorrubicina no sarcoma de aplicação em felino
The feline injection-site sarcoma (FISS) becomes a big challenge for Veterinary Medicine nowadays. Its first description was in 1991, and since then several studies have been done aiming to find out the FISS´s etiology and etiopathology. The object of this project is to demonstrate the effectiveness of chemotherapy protocols in FISS´s treatment in two grou

21. Avaliação clinicopatologica de condrossarcomas de cabeça e pescoço / Clinicopathological analysis of head and neck chondrosarcomas
Chondrosarcomas are malignant tumors of unknown etiology, in which tumoral cells form cartilagenous tissue. Although rare in head and neck region, chondrosarcomas are the second primary osseous tumor in frequency. The aim of the present study was correlate clinicopathological data to prognostic of patients with head and neck chondrosarcomas treated in the He

22. Primary renal sarcoma with morphologic and immunohistochemical aspects compatible with synovial sarcoma
Primary synovial sarcoma of the kidney is a rare tumor that is difficult to diagnose. We present one case that was not diagnosed through fine needle aspiration, requiring a morphologic and immunohistochemical analysis of the incision biopsy. Since the tumor was surgically unresectable, chemotherapy was employed previously to definitive radical surgery.

24. Preoperative diagnosis of a pulmonary artery sarcoma.
A pulmonary artery sarcoma was diagnosed preoperatively by magnetic resonance imaging enhanced with gadolinium and confirmed by percutaneous computed tomographic guided needle biopsy. Accurate preoperative diagnosis allowed planned curative surgery with removal of the right ventricular outflow tract and reconstructive surgery using a cryopreserved homograft.
