1. Analysis of Infestation of Nematode Meloidogyne exigua in a Rubber Tree Plantation in the Triângulo Mineiro Region
ABSTRACT This study analyzed the use of the water balance, precipitation, temperature and NDVI (Normalized Difference Vegetation Index) to determine the optimum moment for evaluating infestation by the nematode Meloidogyne exigua in a rubber tree plantation by remote sensing. Nineteen sampling points were defined, divided into three areas, with high and low

2. Impact of the timing and duration of weed control on the establishment of a rubber tree plantation

3. Chikungunya virus outbreak in Kerala, India, 2007: a seroprevalence study
India was affected by a major outbreak of chikungunya fever caused by Chikungunya virus (CHIKV) during 2006-2007. Kerala was the worst affected state during 2007 with a contribution of 55.8% suspected cases in the country. However, except for clinically reported case records, no systematic information is available on infection status of CHIKV in the region.

4. Tropical terrestrial model ecosystems for evaluation of soil fauna and leaf litter quality effects on litter consumption, soil microbial biomass and plant growth.
Abstract ? The aim of this work was to evaluate whether terrestrial model ecosystems (TMEs) are a useful tool for the study of the effects of litter quality, soil invertebrates and mineral fertilizer on litter decomposition and plant growth under controlled conditions in the tropics. Forty-eight intact soil cores (17.5-cm diameter, 30-cm length) were taken o

The objective of this work was to study the spatial distribution of Tenuipalpus heveae Baker in rubber tree plantations. The experimental area was located in Marinópolis, State of São Paulo, and corresponded to a total of 1,000 plants (clone RRIM 600) divided in 100 plots of ten plants each. A total of 16 samplings were conducted, approximately once every

8. Crescimento e produtividade do cafeeiro sombreado e a pleno sol / Growth and productivity of coffee plants under shade and full sun
Coffee is an important exporting agricultural commodity in the world and the Brazil is in a leading position as the worlds largest exporting producer. However, the product is quite vulnerable to market price floating. In that scenario, diversifying products can be an important strategy to keep the economic equilibrium of the property. The aim of this study

9. Resilience of soil structure of an Ultisol under different land uses, at the Zona da Mata, MG / Resiliência da estrutura em Argissolo sob diferentes usos, na Zona da Mata de Minas Gerais
Soil structure has a great importance for agricultural production, since it exerts marked influences on carbon cycles, nutrient cycling an water behavior, as well as to soil gas which are plant development limiting factors. Thus, this work aimed to verify the resilience of an Ultisol under different land uses. The work was located in Visconde do Rio Branco,

This study was accomplished with two young cultivate of rubber tree, Hevea brasiliensis (Willd. ex Adr. of Juss.) Müell. Arg.], RRIM 600 and Fx 3864. This work obtained information comparatively on cultivating Fx 3864 to RRIM 600 already established in the from São Paulo Occidental Plateau, through the gas exchange, osmotic and leaf water potential, status
