1. Wide Band Stop Response Using Interdigital Capacitor/CSRR DGS in Elliptical Microstrip Low-Pass Filter
Abstract In this paper, a compact elliptic-response microstrip low pass filter (LPF) is presented with a wide stop-band using stepped impedance resonators. With high attenuation in the stop-band, the overall size reduction of the proposed filter is achieved using a novel defected ground structure technique using an interdigital capacitor and complementary sp

2. A Novel Fully Integrated 4-Bit IFM Subsystem Using Band-Stop Filters
Abstract In this paper a 2-4 GHz microstrip IFM (Instantaneous Frequency Measurement) subsystem that uses Wilkinson power dividers, frequency discriminators based on band-stop filters and a DC arduino section is reported. The device uses band-stop filters as an alternative to delay lines, commonly used for IFM. The resonators are responsible for frequency ad

3. Modular modeling approach for FDM printed structures and piezo disks for metamaterial design
Abstract Research in metamaterials has recently gained interest in the field of noise and vibration control. The ability of creating band gap zones with minimum added mass is the main feature behind its success. In addition, the use of 3D printed parts, particularly the Fused Deposition Modeling (FDM), offers a practical solution for manufacturing parts with

4. Theoretical Study of Plasmonically Induced Transparency Effect in Arrays of Graphene-Based Double Disk Resonators
Abstract In this paper, we consider coupled disk-shaped resonators separated by a thin dielectric substrate that can be used as frequency-tunable filters or as electromagnetic switches in the terahertz frequency band. The two disks are electromagnetically coupled and resonate with dipole plasmonic modes. By using a Temporal Coupled-Mode Theory based approach

5. Stability Characteristics of a Model Trim Adjustment System for Open Loop Active Control of Thermoacoustic Instability
ABSTRACT Thermoacoustic instability in liquid rocket engines can have potentially catastrophic consequences. Active control based on feedback promises improved stability margin over a wider range of operating conditions than passive control. In the present work, the thermoacoustic characteristics of a trim adjustment active control system based on variable v

6. Wave propagation in cellular locally resonant metamaterials
Abstract Locally resonant acoustic metamaterials have recently attracted a great interest due to their dynamic behaviour, characterized by a band gap at relatively low frequencies. This paper provides a numerical study, by means of finite element modal analyses, of the dynamic properties of 1D mass-in-mass and 2D cellular locally resonant metamaterials. The

7. Sharp Rejection and Wide Stopband Microstrip Lowpass Filters using Complementary Split Ring Resonators
Abstract Chebyshev microstrip lowpass filters with improved performance, achieved by means of circular complementary split ring resonators (CSRR), are presented. CSRR particles exhibit frequency rejection bandwidths in the vicinity of their resonant frequencies that can be used to meliorate both selectivity and stopband in microstrip lowpass filters. Two con

8. A Direct Approach for Coupling Matrix Synthesis for Coupled Resonator Diplexers
Abstract Diplexers are used to separate or combine two bands of frequencies and they are designed by combining channel filters using distribution circuit or alternatively designed based on coupled resonator circuits. Design parameters of coupled resonator circuits such as coupling coefficients, self-resonant frequencies and external couplings are done using

9. A Novel Design of an H-shaped Microstrip Diplexer
Abstract In this paper, a new microstrip diplexer using modified H-shaped resonators with a compact size and high isolation is presented. This circuit is designed for the ISM band at 2.4 GHz and GPS at 1.575 GHz. The proposed diplexer is formed by connecting two band-pass filters designed by using the modified H-shaped resonator and tapped microstrip Input/o

10. Experimental and numerical investigation of the microwave dielectric properties of the MgTiO3 ceramic matrix added with CaCu3Ti4O12
Abstract This paper describes an experimental and numerical investigation of the dielectric resonators based on the MgTiO3 ceramic matrix, which relates to their dielectric properties in microwave. The resonators are compounds of the MgTiO3 added with 4, 6, 8, 10 and 12 wt% of the CaCu3Ti4O12. The manufacturing process of the resonators is based on the solid

11. Experimental Study of Transmission and Reflection Characteristics of a Gradient Array of Metamaterial Split-Ring Resonators
Abstract A study of a non-uniform metamaterial array consisting of six split-ring resonators of varying diameters is conducted experimentally to measure the transmission and reflection characteristics that arise from asymmetry in the longitudinal direction. Such characteristics are examined and compared with their counterpart symmetric scattering coefficient

12. Compact Microstrip Low-pass Filter with Wide Stop-band Using P-Shaped Resonator
Abstract This paper, a compact low-pass filter (LPF) with an Elliptic function response using P-shaped resonators is presented. The LPF with simple structure results in the low insertion loss less than 0.1 dB and high return loss better than 20 dB, in the pass-band. The proposed filter with a −3 dB cutoff frequency of 2.61 GHz is fabricated and measured. T
