1. Sobre a evolução hidrodinâmica da matéria nuclear criada em colisões de íons pesados relativísticos - um estudo com condições iniciais flutuantes / On the hydrodynamic evolution of the nuclear matter created in relativistic heavy ion collisions - a study with fluctuating initial conditions
In this work we apply a hydrodynamic model with fluctuating initial conditions in a event by event basis to study some observables in relativistic heavy ion collisions. We show that the introduction of fluctuations, characterized by longitudinal high energy density tubes, turn the computation of the observables closer to data, in comparison to the traditiona

2. Generation of gravitational waves in cosmological phase transition from quark-hadron / Geração de ondas gravitacionais na transição de fase cosmológica quark-hádron
Gravitational waves are possibly the only direct evidence to study the Early Universe in times preceding the matter-radiation decoupling. The future launch of LISA (Laser Interferometer Space Antenna) will possibly provide a precise instrument for measuring this radiation. In this work we calculate the gravitational wave background produced by the quark-hadr

3. Fitted HBT radii versus space-time variances in flow-dominated models
The inability of otherwise successful dynamical models to reproduce the "HBT radii" extracted from two-particle correlations measured at the Relativistic Heavy Ion Collider (RHIC) is known as the "RHIC HBT Puzzle". Most comparisons between models and experiment exploit the fact that for Gaussian sources the HBT radii agree with certain combinations of the sp

4. Particle production from soft processes
Relativistic heavy-ion collisions provide a unique environment to study matter under extreme conditions of high temperature andenergy density. In the soft pT region (< 2 GeV/c) particle production is governed by the bulk properties (e.g. hydrodynamic pressure, freeze-out temperature) of the collisions.Total particle yields as well as their distributions in p

5. Jet quenching measurements at RHIC
Experimental observation of jet quenching in ultra-relativistic heavy-ion collisions is one of the most remarkable discoveries at RHIC. High-pT hadron suppression, disappearance of back-to-back jets, and strong away-side modification at intermediate to low pT have provided us many insights into the matter created at RHIC. Particularly, angular correlations h

6. Um estudo hidrodinâmico do fluxo elíptico em colisões nucleares relativísticas / A hydrodynamic study of the elliptic flow in relativistic nuclear collisions

7. Relativistic plasma shutter for ultraintense laser pulses
A relativistic plasma shutter technique is proposed and tested to remove the sub-100 ps pedestal of a high-intensity laser pulse. The shutter is an ultrathin foil placed before the target of interest. As the leading edge of the laser ionizes the shutter material it will expand into a relativistically underdense plasma allowing for the peak pulse to propagate
