1. ESTUDO DE MORFOLOGIA MACROSCÓPICA, MICROSCÓPICA TESTICULAR E EPIDIDIMÁRIA EM EMAS (Rhea americana, Linnaeus 1758)(RHEIDAE) / Macroscopic and microscopic study in testes and epididymis of great rhea (Rhea americana, Linnaeus - 1758)(Rheidae)

The purpose of this research was studied the macroscopic morphology of rheas testis and epididymis. Were studied testis from 54 rheas, breed in captivity. In commercial slaughter, were collected testis to analyzed macroscopic measurements of testis and epididymis, consisting in length, width, thickness, circumference, volume, parenchyma and testicular capsul

3. Serosurvey of selected avian pathogens in brazilian commercial Rheas (Rhea americana) and Ostriches (Struthio camelus)
Ratite farming of has expanded worldwide. Due to the intensive farming methods used by ratite producers, preventive medicine practices should be established. In this context, the surveillance and control of some avian pathogens are essential for the success of the ratite industry; however, little is known on the health status of ratites in Brazil. Therefore,

4. IDENTIFICATION OF THE PLASMATIC PROFILE AND DIFFERENTIATION OF PLASMATIC PROTEIN FRACTIONS IN RATITES.

5. DEVELOPMENT OF THE CURED FERMENTED SAUSAGE OF GREATER RHEA MEAT (Rhea americana) ASSOCIETED TO THE PORK / DESENVOLVIMENTO DE EMBUTIDO CURADO FERMENTADO DE CARNE DE EMA (Rhea americana) ASSOCIADA À DE SUÍNO

6. Complete mitochondrial DNA genome sequences of extinct birds: ratite phylogenetics and the vicariance biogeography hypothesis.
The ratites have stimulated much debate as to how such large flightless birds came to be distributed across the southern continents, and whether they are a monophyletic group or are composed of unrelated lineages that independently lost the power of flight. Hypotheses regarding the relationships among taxa differ for morphological and molecular data sets, th

7. Search for Lawsonia intracellularis and Bilophila wadsworthia in malabsorption-diseased chickens
Proliferative enteropathy is an important enteric disease caused by Lawsonia intracellularis. A wide range of host species can be infected by the same bacterium, yet the clinico-pathologic features among these hosts remains almost identical. The disease has been recognized regularly among ratites, but not in other avian families, such as galliforms, even tho
