1. Parasites in feces of the endemic rattlesnake, Crotalus triseriatus (Serpentes: Viperidae), from Mexican highlands
ABSTRACT There are few studies about parasitic infections in Crotalus triseriatus (Wagler, 1830), an endemic rattlesnake from the highlands of central Mexico. This species occupies several habitats, from conserved forested regions to heavily impacted landscapes. To increase the parasitological knowledge of this reptile species without impacting populations,

2. Gastrointestinal parasites of a population of emus (Dromaius novaehollandiae) in Brazil

3. ASSESSMENT OF THE PRESENCE OF Toxocara EGGS IN SOILS OF AN ARID AREA IN CENTRAL-WESTERN ARGENTINA
With the aim of studying the contamination of soils with eggs of Toxocara spp. in an arid area in the central-western region of Argentina, 76 soil samples were collected from 18 towns belonging to six provinces of central-western Argentina. They were processed by the centrifugal flotation method. No eggs of Toxocara spp. were found. It can be concluded that

4. Breeding sites of Culicoides pachymerus Lutz in the Magdalena River basin, Colombia
The breeding sites of Culicoides pachymerus are described for the first time in western Boyacá Province, Colombia, where this species is a public health problem. In addition to being a nuisance due to its enormous density and its high biting rates, C. pachymerus cause dermatological problems in the human population. Analysis of microhabitats by the sugar fl

5. Rating parasitological contamination and seasonal sand in public parks region of the eastern city of Sao Paulo / Avaliação parasitológica e contaminação sazonal nas areias de parques públicos na região da zona leste da cidade de São Paulo
Introduction - In recent decades, have been recurrent in the national and international scientific literature, the finding of contamination of public places open to the community by parasites with zoonotic potential and spreaders of human infections. The geohelminths are parasites that can infect humans, however, to allow for the embryo and thus become infec

6. Pré-cloração associada à adsorção em carvão ativado em pó e flotação por ar dissolvido na remoção de microcistina presente em três diferentes concentrações em águas provenientes de reservatório eutrofizado / Prechlorination associated to adsorption with powdered activated carbon and dissolved air flotation in the removal of three concentrations of microcystin present in eutroficated reservoir water
The disordered growth of cities, the use of planting areas near the water sources and the launch of domestic and industrial wastewater without treatment are the main sources of water bodiespollution. Such pollution contributes to increase the nutrient loading in the water bodies. In association with climatic factors, this enrichment of nutrient provides suit

7. Ocorrencia de Cryptosporidium spp. e Giardia spp. em hortaliças da região metropolitana de Campinas (SP) : sua relação com a comunidade de trabalhadores e com a area agricola / Occurence of Cryptpsporidium spp., Giardia spp. in vegetables of the metropolitan area of Campinas, SP : her relationship with the wokers community and and with the agricultural area
Cryptosporidium spp. and Gim-dia spp. are waterborne parasites that cause gastroenteritis. They are known for the high incidence of cases and the chemical resistance to treatments and capacity to stay intact for a prolonged time in environment. Today, the great influence of protozoa in several waterborne and foodborne outbreaks, becomes evident that vegetabl

8. Geologia, geometalurgia, controles e gênese dos depósitos de fósforo, terras raras e titânio do complexo carbonatítico Catalão i , GO
This work describes the geological and geometallurgical characteristics of the phosphate, titanium, niobium and rare-earth elements deposits in the northeast part of the Catalão I carbonatite complex, Central Brazil. The mineralization controls were determined for magmatic, metasomatic and weathering processes. The ore types were defined on the basis of geo

9. Flutuação e densidade populacional de ácaros (Acari) em três sistemas de produção de citros / Flotation and density population of mites (Acari) in three citrus production systems

10. Effect of three concentration techniques on viability of Cryptosporidium parvum oocysts recovered from bovine feces.
Bovine fecal samples (1 g) negative for Cryptosporidium sp. oocysts were seeded with 7 x 10(4) Cryptosporidium parvum oocysts and purified by either water-ether concentration, sucrose density flotation, or zinc sulfate flotation to evaluate oocyst recovery. The effect of these purification techniques on the viability of recovered oocysts was also evaluated.

11. Improved Flotation Technique for Microscopy of In Situ Soil and Sediment Microorganisms
An improved flotation method for microscopy of in situ soil and sediment microorganisms was developed. Microbial cells were released into gellike flotation films that were stripped from soil and sediment aggregates as these aggregates were submerged in 0.5% solutions of polyvinylpyrrolidone. The use of polyvinylpyrrolidone solutions instead of water facilita

12. Density of Microbodies on Sucrose Gradients during Phytochrome-mediated Glyoxysome Peroxisome Transformation in Cotyledons of Mustard Seedlings 1
The microbodies extracted from the cotyledons of mustard seedlings (Sinapis alba L.) form two bands (at 1.18 kilograms per liter together with the mitochondria, and at 1.24 kilograms per liter) on conventional isopycnic sedimentation density gradients. The artifactual co-banding of part of the microbodies with the mitochondria can be prevented by using flota
