1. Geradores de seqüências pseudoaleatórias usando caos em sistemas de espalhamento espectral
Spread sprectrum is a modulation technique that uses a binary sequence to spread an information signal in frequency domain. Conventionally, the process of spreading uses pseudo-random sequences created by shift-registers. However, sequences created using chaotic signals can also be employed because they have compatible spectral and autocorrelation properties

2. Use of Component Mode Synthesis and Axial Splits in Ducts for Noise Control of Higher Order Duct Mode / Utilização de síntese modal de componentes e particionamento axial de dutos para controle dos modos acústicos de alta ordem
In this study, the proposal of this work is centered in the noise reduction in ducts that became, over the years, a field of intense application. The traditional approach to acoustic noise control in ducts uses passive techniques and fixed reactive silencers to mitigate the noise. In this moment, the Active Control of Noise (ANC) is an attractive approach to

3. A noção de competências na educação profissional: o processo de ensino nos cursos de aprendizagem industrial da unidade do SENAI de Campo Grande-MS / The notion of competences in professional education: the teaching process of the industrial learning courses of the SENAI unit in Campo Grande, MS,
The present research, bound with the Line of Research in pedagogical practices and its relations to the teaching formation, had as objective the analysis of the theory-practical understanding of the notion of competence and its implementation in education in the context of the industrial learning courses of the SENAI School in Campo Grande, MS. Therefore, th

4. A necessidade da efetivação das regiões metropolitanas
The expansion of the city is based by the quantitative expansion of the technological potential whose objective is to extend the physical forces of the man in its necessities to live, to circulate and to work; e the way for which it expands - of dispersed form or intently - it is in the dependence of the form as the some technological elements are spread. 5. Info-entretenimento na telefonia celular: informação, mobilidade e interação social em um novo espaço de fluxos
The information era, characterized by the centralization of information processes, undergoes a new phase, due to the wireless connection provided by mobile digital technologies. Among these, the mobile phone stands out, having gone through many transformations in the past years, both in external appearance and in its functions. Currently it has gone beyond b

8. Caracterização de um sistema imageador infravermelho termal através de suas resoluções espacial e radiométrica / Characterization of a thermal infrared line scanner trough its spatial and radiometric resolutions
The thermal infrared spectral bands in airborne sensors are still little explored in Brazil. The Institute of Advanced Studies (IEAv) at the Aerospace Technical Center (CTA) developed the Thermal Infrared Imaging System (SISIMI), an aerial surveillance prototype sensor operating in the 8 to 12.5 um band with a rotating imaging scanner of 720 lines/s. The obj

10. Avaliação ponto a ponto de sistemas de imagem radiológica utilizando funções de espalhamento de ponto simuladas. / Evaluating the focal sopt MTF in all radiological field location by computer simulation.
In this work a method of evaluation for the radiological imaging systems performance by simulated transfer functions for any X-ray field region is proposed. The simulation procedures provide information of the changes of the focal spot sizes and, therefore, of the Point Spread Function (PSF) along the field. The evaluation yields the bi-dimensional optical T

11. Imaging Barriers to Diffusion by Pair Correlation Functions
Molecular diffusion and transport are fundamental processes in physical, chemical, biochemical, and biological systems. However, current approaches to measure molecular transport in cells and tissues based on perturbation methods such as fluorescence recovery after photobleaching are invasive, fluctuation correlation methods are local, and single-particle tr

12. From essential to beneficial: glycoprotein D loses importance for replication of bovine herpesvirus 1 in cell culture.
Glycoprotein D (gD) of bovine herpesvirus 1 (BHV-1) has been shown to be an essential component of virions involved in virus entry. gD expression in infected cells is also required for direct cell-to-cell spread. Therefore, BHV-1 gD functions are identical in these aspects to those of herpes simplex virus 1 (HSV-1) gD. In contrast, the gD homolog of pseudora
