1. Estudo do padrão respiratório, movimentação toracoabdominal e ventilação em pacientes portadores de doença pulmonar obstrutiva crônica durante respiração diafragmática / Study of respiratory pattern, thoracoabdominal motion and ventilation in patients with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease during diaphragmatic breathing
Nesse context

2. Efeitos da adição de polietilenoglicol ao surfactante exógeno no tratamento da síndrome de aspiração de mecônio em coelhos recém-nascidos / Effects of polyethylene glycol added to exogenous surfactant for meconium aspiration syndrome treatment in newborn rabbits
Meconium is known to be a potent inactivator of pulmonary surfactant, and exogenous surfactant treatment for meconium aspiration syndrome failed to decrease mortality. A number of studies have shown, in vitro, that the addition of polymers such as polyethylene glycol (PEG) to the surfactant maintains good surface activity in the presence of meconium. In the

3. Determinação do fluxo arterial com o auxilio da pneumopletismografia e da ultra-sonografia duplex : estudo experimental e em voluntarios
The evaluation of patients with arterial disease includes the determination of arterial flow in the lower limbs. In this study, we compared the usefulness of US-Duplex and plethysmography for assessing arterial blood flow and the possible causes of errar associated with these procedures. Methods: For experimental evaluation of the US-Duplex, we used a system

4. Implications of changes in amplitude and contour of the mercury strain gauge plethysmograph pulse tracing.
Alterations in the mercury strain gauge plethysmograph pulse tracing have been previously thought to denote changes in venous tone. This study was designed to define the implications of changes in amplitude and contour of pulse tracing. Seven normal subjects were studied. After control measurements, amyl nitrite was administered and the pulse tracing was rec

11. Lung blood flow studies in patients with scoliosis and neuromuscular weakness
Pulmonary capillary blood flow was measured by the nitrous oxide body plethysmograph technique in 16 patients, 10 of whom had scoliosis and six neuromuscular weakness.

12. A water-filled body plethysmograph for the measurement of pulmonary capillary blood flow during changes of intrathoracic pressure
A water-filled body plethysmograph was constructed to measure gas exchange in man. As compared to an air-filled plethysmograph, its advantages were greater sensitivity, less thermal drift, and no change from adiabatic to isothermal conditions after a stepwise change of pressure. When five subjects were completely immersed within it and were breathing to the
