15. Odontogenic myxoma : clinicopathological and immunohistochemical analyse of 67 cases / Mixomas odontogenicos : analise clinicopatologica e imunohistoquimica de 67 casos
The aim of this study was to analyze the immunohistochemical profile and clinical, radiographical and histopathological characteristics of 67 cases of odontogenic myxoma (OM), as well as to report the greatest series related in the world literature. Females were more affected with 48 cases (71,64%) whereas males were in 19 (26.83%), male-female ratio 1:2.5.

16. c-erbB-2 expression and nuclear pleomorphism in canine mammary tumors
The objective of the present investigation was to study the expression of c-erbB-2 and MIB-1 and try to associate them with morphological features of the cell such as nuclear pleomorphism, mitotic count and histological grade in a series of 70 canine mammary gland tumors, 22 of them benign and 48 malignant. Tumors were collected at the Veterinary Hospital of

18. Induction of Unbalanced Growth and Death of Streptococcus sanguis by Oxygen
Streptococcus sanguis has normal streptococcal morphology when grown in a nitrogen atmosphere but undergoes gross morphological alterations when grown in the presence of oxygen (O cells). Studies were made of the relationship between the development of pleomorphism and the loss of viability which accompanied it in O cultures of S. sanguis. The development of

19. Effect of Peptone on Azotobacter Morphology
Pleomorphism in cultures of Azotobacter vinelandii was induced by addition of Difco peptone to the growth medium. Under the conditions of the study, 5% peptone gave rise to transient forms described as “fungoid cells” which were osmotically fragile. After some 48 hr of culture, they became osmotically stable and resumed a more typical morphology. It was

20. Pleomorphism of fusobacteria isolated from the cockroach hindgut.
Fusobacteria are commonly isolated from the hindgut of the cockroach Eublaberus posticus . Eleven strains isolated from E. posticus by us were keyed to four species, Fusobacterium necrophorum, F. varium , F. gonidiaformans , and F. prausnitzii , using current taxonomic criteria. With the exception of F. gonidiaformis , all species showed rods with swollen ce

23. Culture Purity Assessments and Morphological Dissociation in the Pleomorphic Microorganism Bacterionema matruchotii
The inherent pleomorphism of Bacterionema matruchotii resulting from its mode of reproduction was enhanced by temporal effects of culture age and growth condition and by the more lasting effects of rough to intermediate to smooth morphological dissociation. Routine morphological observations with a single growth condition were inadequate to permit unambiguou
