1. Concentração de triptofano e variáveis cinemáticas a diferentes percentuais da velocidade crítica no nado crawl
The aim of this study was to investigate the changes in plasma tryptophan concentration ([TRP]) and kinematic variables in a series of interval training in different percentages of the critical speed (CS) in front crawl. Volunteers were 14 competitive male swimmers with at least four years experience in this style and swimming 48 ± 11 km per week. The subje

2. Characterization of traveling ionospheric disturbances over low latitude brazilian region associated to Perkins plasma instability generated at medium latitudes / Caracterização de distúrbios ionosféricos propagantes na região de baixas latitudes no setor brasileiro associados à instabilidade de plasma Perkins gerada em médias latitudes
With ground based measurements of OI 630 nm emission, by using all-sky imaging system installed at Cachoeira Paulista, we investigated the occurrence of specific events of Medium Scale Traveling Ionospheric Disturbances (MSTIDs), which occurred during nights geomagnetically quiet. Probably, these disturbances are associated with Perkins plasma instability ge

3. Estudo do perfil clínico e imunológico dos possíveis e potenciais doadores de órgãos no Hospital de Pronto Socorro João XXIII
This dissertation, composed of two articles, studies the clinical, epidemiologic and immune organ donor profile inpatient of Hospital João XXIII. The first article, we studied, 120 consecutive possible and potential brain-dead organ donors, clinical an epidemiologic profile, between July, 2007 and June, 2008, evaluated gender, age, diagnosis of coma, brain-

4. Equatorial F-region irregularities generated by the Rayleigh-Taylor instability mechanism: rocket observations from Brazil

5. Structural analyses of rab family GTPases and mechanism of Mafb regulation by the protein TIPRL / Analises estruturais de GTPases da familia RAB e mecanismo de regulção de MAFB pela proteina TIPRL
GTPases of the Rab family are responsible for the intracellular transport of vesicles. Each family member acts on a specific transport pathway and their function is regulated by GTP binding and hydrolysis, cycling between inactive (GDP-bound) and active (GTP-bound) forms. In this work, we describe the crystal structure of inactive and active forms of the GTP

6. Electron Cyclotron Emission in the TCABR Tokamak: An Experimental Study. / "Emissão Eletrociclotrônica no Tokamak TCABR: Um Estudo Experimental"
In this work, an experimental study of the Electron Cyclotron Emission (ECE) in the TCABR Tokamak, is described. An ECE sweeping heterodyne radiometer, operating in the 50-85 GHz frequency range, was installed, calibrated and used to detect ECE radiation in the second harmonic extraordinary mode from thermal plasma discharges. The noise temperature, amplitud

7. Spinodal instability in the quark-gluon plasma
We investigate the onset of spinodal decomposition in a relativistic fluid of quarks coupled to a nonequilibrium chiral condensate. Studying small fluctuations around equilibrium, we identify the role played by sound and chiral waves in the generation of unstable modes.

8. {Kinetic simulations to modeling events in space plasmas} / Simulação cinéticas para modelagens de fenômenos em plasma espaciais
- The purpose of this doctoral thesis is to study some phenomena in space plasma using theoretical models and computer simulation via particles. Firstly, we concentrate on studying the process involving nonlinear interactions among Langmuir, electromagnetic and ion acoustic waves, associated with type III solar radio bursts. Starting from the generalized Zak

9. Evidence of plasma resonance instability from observations of solar decimetric fine structures
The solar radio emissions in the decimetric frequency range (above 1000 MHz) are very rich in temporal and/or spectral fine structures. The Brazilian Solar Spectroscope (BSS) at INPE started operating in 1998. Since then, various types of fine structures, in the frequency range of (1000-2500) MHz, with high time and frequency resolutions have been recorded.

10. The role of alpha particles in the emission of plasma waves inside solar ejecta
The enhancement of the resonant instability of right-hand polarized electromagnetic ion cyclotron waves by alpha particles for physical parameters corresponding to coronal mass ejections is studied. We focus on the effects of alpha thermal anisotropy and relative He++/H+ abundance on growth and absorption rates. The first parameter governs directly wave emis

11. Studies of mode lock instability in the HL-1M tokamak
Locked mode instability in the HL-1M tokamak has been investigated in this paper. In the HL-1M tokamak the mode lock instability often appears in with low density discharges ( < 1 × 10(19) m-3). The precursor perturbations on both soft-X rays and Mirnov signals simultaneously increase before m

12. Effect of suprathermal electrons on central plasma relaxation oscillations during localized electron cyclotron heating on the HL-1M Tokamak
In this paper we discuss the typical behavior of HL-1M tokamak plasmas during ECRH. A large variety ofsawtooth types have been observed at different ECH power deposition locations. The observed central MHD activities detected by the soft x-ray diode array include saturated sawtooth, partially saturated sawtooth, double sawtooth, and strong m=1 bursts superim
