13. A model of a permanent magnet axial-flux machine based on lie’s symmetries
A permanent magnet axial-flux machine was designed, built, and tested. Numerical and analytical models were developed for the machine and comparisons were carried out. The analytical models rely on Lie’s symmetries and the comparison results will be presented.

14. Evaluation of the normal force of a planar actuator
This paper describes a method to compute the normal force that acts on the mover of an electromagnetic planar actuator. The method is based on the Maxwell Stress Tensor and depends on the resulting magnetic field. The actuator has a mover with two permanent magnets and a ferromagnetic stator covered by two orthogonal armature coils. The mover is hold by a su

15. Analytical method to predict the static performance of a planar actuator
An analytical method for predicting the three-dimensional (3-D) magnetic flux density distribution in the air gap produced by permanent magnets of an electromagnetic planar actuator, was developed. The analytical 3-D model was validated by means of a finite-element model and by measurements. It allowed the understanding of the behavior of the flux density in

17. Histological evaluation of the influence of magnetic field application in autogenous bone grafts in rats
Background: Bone grafts are widely used in oral and maxillofacial reconstruction. The influence of electromagnetic fields and magnets on the endogenous stimulation of target tissues has been investigated. This work aimed to assess the quality of bone healing in surgical cavities filled with autogenous bone grafts, under the influence of a permanent magnetic

18. Controle linear de maximo torque do motor sincrono de imãs permanentes interiores / A linear maximum torque control of the interior permanent magnet synchronous motor
In this work is presented the linear maximum torque control of an interior permanent magnet synchronous operating in the constant torque and field weakening ranges. The constant torque control is implemented by using the maximum torque per Ampére curve of the motor. The terminal stator voltage remains constant along the field weakening range due to the arma

19. Avaliação do efeito de tratamentos superficiais na resistência à corrosão de magnetos de Nd-Fe-B / Assessment of the effect of surface treatments on the corrosion resistance of Nd-Fe-B Magnets.
Nd-Fe-B magnets produced by powder metallurgy are highly susceptible to corrosion due to their complex microstructure and intrinsic porosity due to their fabrication process. Moreover, these magnets have excellent magnetic properties and find many applications. In the nuclear area, permanent magnets based on rare earth transition-iron-boron (Ne-Fe-B) are use

This work aims at momentum for the acquisition of orbits of artificial satellites equipped with a Hall thruster. These devices are responsible for the transformation of the electricity used in the gas ionization in kinetic energy for the acceleration of the plasma that provides thrust to the satellite. Since mid-2002, the Plasma Laboratory of the Institute o
