Esta pesquisa tem como objetivo investigar a categoria do tempo interno ou aspecto verbal na organização narrativa do romance Vidas Secas, de Graciliano Ramos. Repassa-se criticamente, com base na leitura de algumas obras representativas, a contribuição tradicional ao estudo desse conceito, mesmo nos casos em que não é identificado pelo termo aspecto.
