2. A multiparton model for pp / p$\bar{p}$ inelastic scattering
We have applied a geometrical approach to study pp / p$\bar{p}$ inelastic scattering over the range of center mass energies from 44.5 to 900 GeV. The multiplicity distributions are described by multiple parton-parton collisions without free parameters. The output seems to be consistent with data and the results are discussed. Exploring the possible connectio

3. Forward Physics at the LHC: within and beyond the Standard Model
We review the detection capabilities in the forward direction of the various LHC experiments together with the associated physics programme. A selection of measurements accessible with near-beam instrumentation in various sectors (and extensions) of the Standard Model (SM) is outlined, including QCD (diffractive and elastic scattering, low-x parton dynamics,

4. Diffractive higgs boson photoproduction in peripheral collisions
An alternative process is proposed for the diffractive Higgs boson production inspired in the Durham model, exploring it through the photon-proton interaction. In this sense, we estimate the production cross section of the Higgs boson, comparing some sets of parton distributions in the proton and confronting this results with those from other processes.

5. Detection of ultra high-energy tau-neutrinos with fluorescence detectors
We calculate the possible number of Extensive Air Showers originated by tau neutrinos in Fluorescence Detectors like the ones of the Pierre Auger Observatory. We consider models of production of electron and muon neutrinos in extra galactic objects and Topological Defects, as well as the possibility of neutrino flavor change in the propagation of the neutrin

6. Jet tomography of quark gluon plasma
Recent experimental measurements of high pT hadron spectra and jet correlation at RHIC are analyzed within a parton model which incoporates initial jet production and final propagation in heavy-ion collisions. The suppre-sion of single hadron spectra, back-to-back correlation, their centrality dependence and azimuthal anisotropy point to a dense matter with

7. Inclusive photoproduction of lepton pairs in the parton model
In the framework of the QCD parton model, we study unpolarized scattering of high energy real photons from a proton target into lepton pairs and a system of hadrons. For a given parametrization of parton distributions in the proton, we calculate the cross section of this process and show the cancellation of the interference terms.

8. Estudo do espalhamento elastico proton-proton a altas energias atraves de modelos eiconais
The proton-proton elastic scattering in the center of mass energy region 23 to 63 GeV is investigated through a multiple diffraction model. As an introduction to the subject, a detailed review of the fundamental basis of the Multiple Diffraction Formalism (FDM) and a survey of the multiple diffraction models (geometrical) currently used are presented. The go

9. On the failure of the Drell-Yan parton model to account for production of the J/Ψ in nucleon-nucleon interactions
We calculate the cross sections for the production of the J/Ψ in nucleon-nucleon interactions on the basis of a naive Drell-Yan-type parton model where the Ψ production is considered as production through the resonant or fusion interaction of quarks and antiquarks resident in the colliding nucleons. The interacting quarks are assumed to act as free point D
