2. Control of leaf anthracnose of peach palm with fungicides: a valid strategy for seedling nurseries, but not for young plantations
ABSTRACT This work aimed to evaluate the efficacy of fungicides for controlling anthracnose (Colletotrichum gloeosporioides) on peach palm (Bactris gasipaesvar.gasipaes) seedlings in nursery beds and in newly planted peach palms in the field. The nursery experiment included two fungicide combinations: [thiophanate-methyl + chlorothalonil (TM + C) and pyraclo

3. Pigmented eccrine poroma in an atypical location
Abstract Eccrine poroma is the term that includes benign neoplasms of the terminal duct of the eccrine sweat glands, which may clinically and dermoscopically resemble other melanoma and non-melanoma skin tumors. They are often located on the extremities (especially palms and soles), presenting as normochromic or erythematous papules and nodules, measuring up

4. Exanthematic dengue fever mimicking rubella,
Abstract The authors present a case of dengue fever mimicking rubella. Male patient, in the second episode of dengue fever, presented afebrile, with diffuse morbilliform rash and craniocaudal progression, having subsequently affected his palms and soles. On the third day of clinical evolution, serologies did not indicate IgM, IgG, or NS1, but on the sixth da

5. In vitro and in vivo control of yam dry rot nematodes using pyroligneous extracts from palm trees
ABSTRACT Dry rot of yam (Dioscorea spp.) caused by Scutellonema bradys and Pratylenchus spp. has restricted yam production in Brazil. Plant-based products can be useful reducing nematode damages. The objectives of this study were to evaluate the nematostatic and nematicidal in vitro activities of pyroligneous extracts from Cocos nucifera, Syagrus cearensis,

6. Fissuroma (Aigialaceae: Pleosporales) appears to be hyperdiverse on Arecaceae: evidence from two new species from southern Thailand
ABSTRACT Thailand and other tropical regions have high fungal diversity. Our investigation and examination of microfungi on palms (Arecaceae) revealed two new ascomycetous species of Fissuroma. Fissuroma arengae and F. wallichiae spp. nov. are introduced using morphological and phylogenetic evidence. The novel species have coriaceous ascomata, cylindrical-cl

7. Hysterosalpingography: Balloon Catheter or Metal Cannula?
ABSTRACT The Brazilian Atlantic Forest (BAF) is one of the biodiversity hotspots, but in the last decades, it has been fragmented due to agricultural and urban-industrial expansion, which has a strong impact on forest fragments. The goal of this study was to analyze the Biotic Integrity Index (BII) in fragments of BAF in two medium-sized cities in Southeaste

9. Clinical characteristics and associations of palmoplantar pustulosis: an observational study,
Abstract Background: Palmoplantar pustulosis is a chronic and relapsing disease of the palms and soles, which is characterized by scattered clusters of pinhead-sized, sterile pustules. Objective: The aim of the present study was to determine demographic features, co-morbidities, and relation of palmoplantar pustulosis with psoriasis. Methods: A total of 4

11. Temporal distribution of fruit-feeding butterflies (Lepidoptera, Nymphalidae) in the eastern extreme of the Amazon region

12. Anatomical and histochemical comparison of the primary and adventitious roots of Attalea microcarpa (Arecaceae) at the initial growth stage
Possuem a estr
