2. Bimetallic Au-Pd/α-MoO3 Catalyst with High Oxygen Vacancies for Selective Oxidation of Cinnamyl Alcohol
Supported Au-Pd nanoparticles (NPs) have been extensively studied in alcohol oxidation reactions. However, few studies use reducible metal oxides as support, which can activate oxygen molecules and boost the selectivity of the reaction. In this work, Au-Pd NPs were supported on α-MoO3 and evaluated in the selective oxidation of cinnamyl alcohol without solv

3. Growth phenotypes of very low birth weight infants for prediction of neonatal outcomes from a Brazilian cohort: comparison with INTERGROWTH
Abstract Objective: To assess the predictive value of selected growth phenotypes for neonatal morbidity and mortality in preterm infants < 30 weeks and to compare them with INTERGROWTH-21st (IG21). Methods: Retrospective analysis of data from the Brazilian Neonatal Research Network (BNRN) database for very low birth weight (VLBW) at 20 public tertiary-care

4. Oxigênio no contexto da COVID-19: o que sabemos sobre a molécula que respiramos e o papel central da química
OXYGEN IN THE COVID-19 CONTEXT: WHAT WE KNOW ABOUT THE MOLECULE WE BREATHE AND THE CENTRAL ROLE OF CHEMISTRY. In this work, the role of chemistry in the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic is highlighted through the medical oxygen supply crises in Brazil, as an example of oxygen utility in health. Starting from oxygen chemical characterization, the

5. Effect of liberal or conservative oxygen therapy on the prognosis for mechanically ventilated intensive care unit patients: a meta-analysis
ABSTRACT BACKGROUND: For critically ill patients, physicians tend to administer sufficient or even excessive oxygen to maintain oxygen saturation at a high level. However, the credibility of the evidence for this practice is unclear. OBJECTIVE: To determine the effects of different oxygen therapy strategies on the outcomes of mechanically ventilated intens

6. A clinical trial on 3D CT scan and polysomnographyc changes after rapid maxillary expansion in children with snoring
Abstract Objective: The present prospective clinical study aimed to investigate the effects of rapid maxillary expansion on the airway, correlating airway volumes obtained on multi-slice computed tomography and polysomnography assessment of oxygen saturation and apnea/hypopnea index. Methods: Twenty-four patients (11 with obstructive sleep apnea and 13 wit

7. Iron Cobaltite (FeCo2O4) Nanocatalysts for Water-Oxidation: Effects of Annealing Temperature on Catalytic Properties
The development of efficient, stable, and non-precious metal water oxidation catalysts (WOCs) is a matter of importance for sustainable energy research. In this work, iron cobaltite (FeCo2O4) nanoparticles were prepared by the coprecipitation method, and we present the effect of heat treatment (250, 350, 450, 650 and 900 °C) on the catalytic properties. 9. Association of recurrent upper respiratory tract infections with low production of oxygen intermediates in children
Abstract Objectives: Upper respiratory tract infections in children generally have significant morbidity and mortality. There is little data available about functional immaturity of the immune system and the child’s susceptibility to infections at the beginning of their lives, thus, justifying a more specific immunological analysis. Method: Analysis of h

12. Prone ventilation in intubated COVID-19 patients: a systematic review and meta-analysis
Abstract Background The efficacy and safety profiles of prone ventilation among intubated Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) patients remain unclear. The primary objective was to examine the effect of prone ventilation on the ratio of arterial partial pressure of oxygen to fraction of inspired oxygen (PaO2/FiO2) in intubated COVID-19 patients. Methods Dat
