1. Forced-air warming and continuous core temperature monitoring with zero-heat-flux thermometry during cesarean section: a retrospective observational cohort study
Abstract Background: Over 30% of parturients undergoing spinal anesthesia for cesarean section become intraoperatively hypothermic. This study assessed the magnitude of hypothermic insult in parturients and newborns using continuous, high-resolution thermometry and evaluated the efficiency of intraoperative forced-air warming for prevention of hypothermia.

2. Heterogeneous Fenton-like catalytic degradation of phenazine dye over CeO2 (CP-2) nanoscale powder
Abstract A heterogeneous Fenton-like process was explored for oxidation of phenazine dye using ceria polishing material (CP-2). XRD, SEM, FTIR, UV-vis DRS, and pHPZC techniques were applied to characterize the catalyst features. The performance of the heterogeneous Fenton-like process was investigated under various parameters (reaction time, pH, H2O2 concent

3. Thermal, structural and optical properties of magnetic BiFeO3 micron-particles synthesized by coprecipitation method: heterogeneous photocatalysis study under white LED irradiation
Abstract Bismuth ferrite, BiFeO3 (BFO) prepared via a coprecipitation method, was used as an effective photocatalyst for the degradation of methylene blue (MB) using a white light-emitting diode (LED-50 W) lamp. The as-prepared material was characterized by TGA, XRD, SEM-EDX, FTIR, and UV-vis-DRS techniques. The effects of experimental key parameters such as

4. Efficacy and Risks of Therapeutic Hypothermia after Pediatric Cardiac Arrest: A Systematic Review
Abstract Background: Therapeutic hypothermia is used in adults and neonates after cardiac arrest, but its efficiency in children under 18 years old is still uncertain. Objective: To evaluate the effectiveness and risks of therapeutic hypothermia after cardiac arrest in children under 18 years of age through a systematic review. Methods: A systematic revie

5. Stability Analyses by HPLC-MS of Guanitoxin Isolated from Sphaerospermopsis torques-reginae
Guanitoxin (GNT) is a natural organophosphate produced by some species of freshwater cyanobacteria, which inhibits the active site of acetylcholinesterase, preventing the hydrolysis of cholinesterases and consequently causing serious disturbances in the neuromuscular system. Despite having a chemical structure like synthetic organophosphates, there is still

6. A Greener Enzymatic Oligoesterification of Biobased Renewable Synthons
Polyesters of xylitol and succinic acid were prepared yielding from 70 to 75% by enzyme-catalyzed esterification using a molar mass from 1:1 to 2:5 at 120 and 140 °C employing from 1 to 10% m/m of enzyme. Control over branching degree was achieved by tuning the reaction conditions (temperature, time, comonomer ratio, enzyme content). This one-step process f

7. EVALUATING HOW THE TEMPERATURE CHANGES IN A SUNKEN SOLAR GREENHOUSE
ABSTRACT An increasing amount of sunlight is available to sunken greenhouses located in northern China, but it remains unclear how the indoor temperature changes at different heights and at the north and south ends of the structure. To study how the temperature in a single indoor section, at multiple points, varies in a sunken solar greenhouse, 10 measuremen

8. Effect of water activity and storage of tahini on the viability of stressed Salmonella serovars
Abstract Tahini (sesame seed paste) is a low water activity product that has been involved in several salmonellosis outbreaks. The objectives of the study were to examine over a year the impact of aw and storage temperature of tahini on the viability of Salmonella serovars previously stressed by drying or heat exposure. Tahini samples adjusted to aw values o

9. Structure-Physical Properties Relationship of Eutectic Solvents Prepared from Benzyltriethylammonium Chloride and Carboxylic Acids
Deep eutectic solvents (DESs) have attracted the attention of the researchers as alternative solvents due to desirable properties such as easy preparation and high thermal stability. In this work, it was reported the preparation of five DESs from benzyltriethylammonium chloride (BTEAC) as quaternary ammonium salt (QAS) and carboxylic acids (oxalic, malonic o

10. Implementation of ventilation towers in a greenhouse established in low altitude tropical climate conditions: numerical approach to the behavior of the natural ventilation
ABSTRACT Deficient ventilation rates and airflow patterns in naturally ventilated greenhouses are the main causes for the generation of inadequate and heterogeneous thermal conditions inside this type of structure. In this research, a numerical study was developed using a two-dimensional computational fluid dynamics model validated in a Colombian greenhouse

11. ACHPA: A sensor based system for automatic environmental control in hydroponics
Abstract The trend towards tunnel farming and hydroponic systems is increasing owing to the climatic changes as well as the need to increase crop yield. Hydroponic is a technique of growing plants without soil. Tunnel farming and hydroponic system requires controlled environmental parameters like temperature, humidity and soil moisture for better production

12. IN SITU DRIFTS/MS STUDIES ON THE INTERACTION OF METHANOL AND ETHYL ACETATE OVER MG-LA CATALYST
The surface intermediates formed on the Mg-La catalyst (molar ratio 1:1) were studied through temperature-programmed desorption (TPD) and diffuse reflectance infrared Fourier transform spectroscopy coupled to mass spectrometry (DRIFTS-MS) using methanol (MeOH) and ethyl acetate (EA) as probe molecules. TPD results showed that the products formed from adsorbe
