25. Performance and nitrogen balance of laying hens fed increasing levels of digestible lysine and arginine
The objective of this experiment was to evaluate the effect of two digestible lysine levels and four digestible arginine levels on laying hens from 24 to 48 weeks of age. Three hundred and twenty Lohmann LSL laying hens were allotted in a completely randomized design in a 2 × 4 factorial arrangement, with two levels of digestible lysine (700 and 900 mg/kg o

26. Digestible tryptophan:lysine ratio for laying hens
The objective of this study was to evaluate the requirement of digestible tryptophan for white laying hens in the production stage fed diets of different digestible tryptophan:digestible lysine ratios, as well as animal performance and histological alterations in their reproductive and digestive systems. A total of 280 white laying hens at 29 weeks of age we

27. Nutritional levels of digestible methionine + cystine to brown-egg laying hens from 50 to 66 weeks of age
The objective of this study was to determine the requirement of digestible methionine + cystine of brown-eggs laying hens from 50 to 66 weeks age at the end of the first production cycle. The design was completely randomized, with 150 Brown Shaver hens, which were distributed in five treatments with six replications of five birds each. Birds received a basal

28. Digestible tryptophan requirements of meat quails in the growth phase
The objective of this experiment was to estimate the digestible tryptophan (DTrp) requirements for growing meat quails. In the first experiment (1-14 days of age), 1,950 quails were distributed in a completely randomized design, with six levels of DTrp (0.27; 0.30; 0.33; 0.36; 0.39 and 0.42% of diet), five replications and 65 quails per experimental unit. 29. Energy nutritional requirements for females of Nellore, Nellore × Angus and Nellore × Simmental fed on two forage: concentrate ratios
The objective of this study was to determine the energy nutritional requirements for females of Nellore, Nellore × Angus and Nellore × Simmental fed on two levels of concentrate. Sixty heifers from three genetic groups were used: 20 Nellore, 20 Nellore × Angus and 20 Nellore × Simmental. Twelve belonged to the reference group (four of each genetic group)

30. Nutritional requirements of energy, protein and macrominerals for maintenance and weight gain of young crossbred Nellore × Holstein bulls on pasture
The objective of this study was to estimate requirements of energy, protein and macrominerals of young Nellore/Holstein crossbreds bulls supplemented on pastures of Brachiaria decumbens Stapf. Thirty-five young bulls, at 8.53±0.18 months of age and with initial body weight of 230.6±6.1 kg were used. Ten animals were slaughtered as reference, in different w

31. NÃveis de isoleucina digestÃvel para suÃnos machos castrados dos 15 aos 30 kg / Levels of digestible isoleucine for barrows from 15 to 30 kg.
Aiming to determine the digestible isoleucine requirement for barrows from 15 to 30 kg, two experiments were conducted, being one of digestibility and another of performance. Ten crossbreed barrows with average initial weight of 15.00 Â 0.27 kg were used to determine the ileal digestibility coefficient of amino acids from basal diet. The animals were housed

Two experiments were conducted to determine the nutritional requirement of available phosphorus (aP) for broilers, from 8 to 21 days old. Were used 896 chickens, Cobb, kept in a thermoneutral environment, with an average temperature of 28.92 0.86 C and calculated WBGT of 78.08 0.47 and 27.05 0,61 C and 75.74 0.53 for WBGT, respectively, for phases 8 to 15 an

33. Exigência de lisina de juvenis de Surubim (Pseudoplatystoma spp)
The determination of nutritional requirements, especially the amino acids requirements, is capital to the economical success of modern aquaculture. The aim of this study was determinate the lysine requirement of surubim (Pseudoplatystoma spp) juvenile. Six hundred surubim juvenile weighting 38,2 ± 1,53 was randomly placed in twenty 400 litters tanks. The ex

34. Nutritional potassium requirement for laying Japanese quails
The objective of this study was to evaluate the potassium requirement for laying Japanese quails. Two hundred and forty quails were distributed in a randomized block design, with five treatments and six replicates, with eight birds each. The treatments consisted of a basal diet deficient in potassium (K) (2.50 g/kg), supplemented with potassium carbonate, to

36. Nutritional requirement among Pseudomonas aeruginosa isolates recovered from respiratory clinical specimens at a tertiary hospital from South of Brazil
We screened 349 isolates of P. aeruginosa from cystic fibrosis (CF+) and non-cystic fibrosis (CF-) patients for the auxotrophy. Fourteen (4.0%) were auxotrophic and among them only one was recovered from CF-patient showing that this characteristic is strongly associated with cystic fibrosis. In total, a requirement for 5 different compounds (or combination)
