25. Análise estrutural e funcional da região promotora de rDNA de Leishmania (Viannia) braziliensis e estudo comparativo com as regiões de Leishmania (Leishmania) / Structural and functional caracterization of rDNA promoter region of Leishmania (Viannia) braziliensis and comparative study with the Leishmania (Leishmania) region
Leishmaniasis is the generic name of a serious public health problem that is caused by protozoa of the genus Leishmania. In its lifecycle, the parasite has two hosts, a vertebrate and an invertebrate. The genus Leishmania is divided into two subgenera: Leishmania (Leishmania) and Leishmania (Vianna), according to the position occupied by the promastigotes fo

26. Perseus:uma nova técnica para tratar árvores de sufixo persistentes / Perseus: a novel technique to handle persistent suffix trees
Due to the technological advances in molecular biology laboratories, biological databases are extremely voluminous and tend to become more voluminous as data on new genome organisms are available. This introduces the challenge of searching nucleotide sequences efficiently. The suffix tree is an access method used for several applications that search for thes

27. Analise da expressão de chaperonas moleculares em plantas e clonagem, purificação e caracterização inicial das proteinas Hsp100 e Hsp90 de cana-de-açucar / Expression analysis of plant molecular chaperones and cloning, purification and primary charaterization of the proteins Hsp 100 and Hsp90 from sugarcane
Proteins are macromolecules that are vital to the functioning cell, participating in most of the biological reactions as well as structural components. To perform its function, a protein need to achieve its native structure through a process called protein folding. In this context, the molecular chaperone proteins are able to assist in the folding of other p

28. Caracterização de novos isolados fracos do vírus do mosaico do mamoeiro ocorrendo naturalmente no estado do Espírito Santo; Avaliação da infecção natural de cucurbitáceas com esse vírus; Caracterização de um isolado do mosaico da alfafa infectando mamoeiro (Carica papaya) em campo / Characterization of new mild isolates of papaya ringspot virus naturally occurring in state Espirito Santo state; Evaluation of natural infection of cucurbits with this virus; Characterization of the alfalfa mosaic virus infecting papaya (Carica papaya) in the field

29. Identificação de microRNAs na musculatura esquelética de Gallus gallus / Identification of microRNAs from Gallus gallus skeletal muscle
MicroRNAs (miRNAs) represent a class of small and noncoding RNAs, about 20-nucleotides long that negatively regulate gene expression posttranscriptionally. The regulatory action of these molecules is essential for the proper functioning of various biological processes, including the development and maintenance of skeletal muscles. To identify miRNAs that mig

30. CARACTERIZAÃÃO PATOGÃNICA E MOLECULAR DE ISOLADOS DO Potato virus Y (PVY) CAUSADORES DE ANÃIS NECRÃTICOS EM TUBÃRCULOS DE BATATA / Characterization pathogenic and molecular the isolates of Potato virus Y (PVY) causes of rings necrotics in tuber potato.
Fourteen isolates of PVYNTN, collected at potato production fields in Brazil, were studied. Thirteen of them were from the South region of Minas Gerais and the other one was from SÃo Paulo State. All isolates were submitted to the test DAS-ELISA and RT-PCR for initial identification. After that, they were inoculated in fourteen host species for evaluation o

31. Expression of a hantavirus N protein and its efficacy as antigen in immune assays
Hantavirus cardiopulmonary syndrome (HCPS) has been recognized as an important public heath problem. Five hantaviruses associated with HCPS are currently known in Brazil: Juquitiba, Araraquara, Laguna Negra-like, Castelo dos Sonhos, and Anajatuba viruses. The laboratory diagnosis of HCPS is routinely carried out by the detection of anti-hantavirus IgM and/or

32. Molecular analysis of the bovine coronavirus S1 gene by direct sequencing of diarrheic fecal specimens
Bovine coronavirus (BCoV) causes severe diarrhea in newborn calves, is associated with winter dysentery in adult cattle and respiratory infections in calves and feedlot cattle. The BCoV S protein plays a fundamental role in viral attachment and entry into the host cell, and is cleaved into two subunits termed S1 (amino terminal) and S2 (carboxy terminal). Th

33. Molecular cloning and sequence analysis of growth hormone cDNA of Neotropical freshwater fish Pacu (Piaractus mesopotamicus)
RT-PCR was used for amplifying Piaractus mesopotamicus growth hormone (GH) cDNA obtained from mRNA extracted from pituitary cells. The amplified fragment was cloned and the complete cDNA sequence was determined. The cloned cDNA encompassed a sequence of 543 nucleotides that encoded a polypeptide of 178 amino acids corresponding to mature P. mesopotamicus GH.

34. Propriedades termo-eletrônicas da molécula do DNA
This thesis presents a comprehensive and up-to-date account of some physical properties of the DNA molecule, such as its thermodynamics (specific heat) and electronic (electronic transmissivity and localization factor, among others) aspects. The DNA molecule can be considered as a symbolic sequence of a four letter alphabet, namely guanine (G), adenine (A),

35. Caracterização molecular do gene da β-tubulina em Phakopsora pachyrhizi / Molecular characterization of the β-tubulin gene in Phakopsora pachyrhizi
This study was carried out to characterize either the β- tubulin gene from the Phakopsora pachyrhizi and the protein codified by this gene. The urediniospores were collected in seven Brazilian counties. The genomic DNA was extracted and the β-tubulin gene was amplified by PCR technique through five combinations of specific primers on such a way to

36. No evidence of association of MUC-1 genetic polymorphism with embryo implantation failure
Pregnancy loss can be caused by several factors involved in human reproduction. Although up to 50% of cases remain unexplained, it has been postulated that the major cause of failed pregnancy is an error of embryo implantation. Transmembrane mucin-1 (MUC-1) is a glycoprotein expressed on the endometrial cell surface which acts as a barrier to implantation. T
