1. Evaluation of two-step transformation in Ni-rich titanium-nickel alloys using thermal and internal friction analyses
ABSTRACT The use of Ti-Ni memory alloys covers several fields of application such as medicine, dentistry, actuators, sensors among others. Because of the thermomechanical behavior of these materials, they are an object of continuous studies and their properties are related to the occurrence of thermoelastic martensitic phase transformations. The thermal anal

2. Nickel-Titanium Alloys Welding of Thin Sheets Using GTAW: Comparative Study Between Similar and Dissimilar Welding with AISI 304 Stainless Steel
The objective of the present work was to evaluate welding of thin sheets (thickness < 1 mm) of similar and dissimilar NiTi alloys with AISI 304 stainless steel using the Gas Tungsten Arc Welding (GTAW) process and to study the mechanical and metallurgical properties of the joints with and without post-welding heat treatment (PWHT). The GTAW process was chose

5. Effect of cleanser solutions on the color of acrylic resins associated with titanium and nickel-chromium alloys
This study evaluated the effect of cleanser solutions on the color of heat-polymerized acrylic resin (HPAR) and on the brightness of dental alloys with 180 immersion trials. Disk-shaped specimens were made with I) commercially pure titanium, II) nickel-chromium-molybdenum-titanium, III) nickel-chromium molybdenum, and IV) nickel-chromium-molybdenum beryllium

6. Nickel-titanium alloys: a systematic review
OBJECTIVE: A systematic review on nickel-titanium wires was performed. The strategy was focused on Entrez-PubMed-OLDMEDLINE, Scopus and BioMed Central from 1963 to 2008. METHODS: Papers in English and French describing the behavior of these wires and laboratorial methods to identify crystalline transformation were considered. A total of 29 papers were select

8. âRevestimento por soldagem MIG/MAG empregando ligas de nÃquel para apliacaÃÃes em componentes do setor de petrÃleo e gÃs naturalâ / Gmaw Welding Overlay Of Nickel-Based Alloys For Applications In Oil And Natural Gas Components
The weld overlay of nickel-based alloys is an alternative often used in oil and gas industry to prevent corrosion in pipes and equipments operating under severe conditions. In many situations the requirements of weld overlays are based in a maximum of 5% iron content in the weld metal to ensure corrosion resistance. The aim of this study was to determine the

10. Evaluation of frictional forces between ceramic brackets and archwires of different alloys compared with metal brackets
The aim of this study was to evaluate, in vitro, frictional forces produced by ceramic brackets and arch wires of different alloys. Frictional tests were performed on three ceramic brackets: monocrystalline (Inspire ICE), polycrystalline (InVu), polycrystalline with metal slot (Clarity), and one stainless steel bracket (Dyna-Lock). Thirty brackets of each we

11. Determination of Ni(II) in metal alloys by spectrophotometry UV-Vis using dopasemiquinone
A spectrophotometric method was proposed for Ni(II) determination in alloys using a dopa-semiquinone (L-1) to form [Ni(II)(L1-)3]1-, ε = 9.3 x 10³ L mol-1 cm-1. The optimal conditions for the determination were: wavelength 590 nm, temperature 25 °C, reaction time 45 min and pH 7.5. The Beer's law was obeyed for nickel from 3.33 x 10-5 to 1.78 x 10-4 mol L
