1. Bond between steel and concrete made with ceramic waste aggregate
Abstract The reduction of natural resources combined with a substantial increase in the generation of solid waste in large urban centers, justifies the search for methods of reusing the construction industry waste. The ceramic industry has a high disposal rate during the manufacturing, transportation and eventual replacement of its products. In this case, re

2. Proposta de traduÃÃo dos princÃpios da coordenaÃÃo modular em parÃmetros aplicÃveis ao building information modeling. / Study for the translation of the modular coordination principles for the building information modeling parameters
Due to changes occurring in the Civil Construction scenario, it is important to emphasize the challenge to achieve the growing demand for housing and overcome deficiencies of the sector related to productivity and the reliability of the products, from design to construction. In this context, Modular Coordination and Building Information Modeling (BIM) emerge

3. Estudos e propriedades mecânicas de um novo tipo de bloco cerâmico híbrido para edificações em alvenarias estruturais
This dissertation presents a hybrid ceramic block the use of which reside in the buildings executed with walls. Initially, we conducted a survey on the requirements and / or norms prevailing in Brazil about structural ceramic blocks, making use of the experiences in other countries. This work seeks new materials and / or products in order to maintain or incr

4. Influência da adição de um fundente sintético no mecanismo de coloração final de revestimentos cerâmicos / The influence of the addition of a synthetic flow in the final color mechanism of ceramic tiles
The presence of iron oxide in ceramic tile mass contributes to the reddish color firing of the products leading to a lower aggregate value, not to be regarded as a "noble" ceramic. However, the use of raw materials with low levels of iron oxides (Fe2O3) is economically unfeasible in Brazil, since most of the deposits have iron compounds as mineral component.

5. A novel bioactive glass-ceramic for treating dentin hypersensitivity
Dentin hypersensitivity (DH) is a painful response to stimulus applied to the open dentinal tubules of a vital tooth. It's a common oral condition, however, without an ideal treatment available yet. This work evaluated in vitro the effect of micron-sized particles from a novel bioactive glass-ceramic (Biosilicate) in occluding open dentinal tubules. A dentin

6. Numerical and experimental thermal analysis of a tunnel kiln used in ceramic production
The available technology for tunnel kilns in Brazil is practically empirical and there is a lack of fundamental studies developed as an aid for the design of new kilns or for the retrofit of old ones. Here, a thermal model of a tunnel kiln is developed allowing the numerical simulation of kilns and dryers aiming toward a more efficient and less energy consum

7. Avaliação da potencialidade de argilas de queima clara como matérias-primas para o desenvolvimento de novos produtos cerâmicos
The industries of structural ceramics are among the most important production chains in the state of Rio Grande do Norte. The industry and other interest groups to target the replacement of firewood by natural gas. Studies accordingly concluded that simple change does not guarantee products of superior quality, and that the increase in spending on fuel can e

8. Influência do lodo de ETE na massa para fabricação de cerâmica vermelha
The WTP produce many kinds of residue on your treatment stages, but the sludge is the more problematic from the final disposition point view. The actual rate of residue production deriving from technological evolution and the crescent population needs prevents the subtle equilibrium generation between consumption and recycling/reuse, creating problems of pol

9. GLASS AND GLASS-CERAMICS WITH HIGH METAL CONCENTRATION OF FROM INDUSTRIAL WASTES / Vidros e vitrocerâmicos com alta concentração de metais obtidos a partir de resíduos industriais
The reuse of industrial waste materials is considered as an important source of raw-materials to be employed at new products. However proper criteria is needed in order to obtain vitreous materials from industrial solid wastes like solid galvanic waste (metallurgical industry) as main raw material. Ajusting the composition silica fine powder (ceramic industr

The creation of the Banco Nacional de HabitaÃÃo (BNH) and the necessity to supply the Brazilian habitation deficit mainly for the band of the population with minor purchasing power, directed the market of the civil construction to search for new constructive systems as alternative to the products and traditional processes. The resistant masonry with hollow

11. "Estabilização de suspensões aquosas de alumina pela adição de taninos e quitosana quaternizada" / Stabilization of aqueous alumina suspensions by addition of tannin and quaternized chitosan
The ceramic industry provides products for several areas, and new processing techniques became necessary to meet the quality requirements. The objective is to produce more homogeneous green microstructures (bodies before burning), with lower number of micro-defects. Such materials can be produced from aqueous suspensions of aluminum oxide (Al2O3), known as a

12. Determination of composition of pozzolanic waste mixtures with optimized compressive strength
The utilization of ceramic wastes with pozzolanic properties along with other compounds for obtaining new materials with cementating properties is an alternative for reducing the environmental pollution. The acceptance of these new products in the market demands minimal changes in mechanical properties according to its utilization. For a variable range of co
