13. Uso de tacrolimus tópico em pacientes com gengivite descamativa: um estudo aberto / An open trial study of occlusive topical use of tacrolimus in 0.1% in patients with desquamative gingivitis

14. Helicobacter pylori adhesion to gastric epithelial cells is mediated by glycan receptors
Helicobacter pylori adhesion to gastric epithelial cells constitutes a key step in the establishment of a successful infection of the gastric mucosa. The high representation of outer membrane proteins in the bacterial genome suggests the relevance of those proteins in the establishment of profitable interactions with the host gastric cells. Gastric epithelia

15. In vitro activity of Origanum vulgare essential oil against Candida species
The aim of this study was to evaluate the in vitro activity of the essential oil extracted from Origanum vulgare against sixteen Candida species isolates. Standard strains tested comprised C. albicans (ATCC strains 44858, 4053, 18804 and 3691), C. parapsilosis (ATCC 22019), C. krusei (ATCC 34135), C. lusitaniae (ATCC 34449) and C. dubliniensis (ATCC MY646).

17. Toad poisoning in three dogs: case reports
Toad poisoning is frequent in dogs, but has been infrequently addressed in published case reports and review articles. Dogs can be poisoned when they bite a toad or otherwise ingest the venom. The venom effects manifest soon after the accident, since the toxin is rapidly absorbed by the mucous membrane of the digestive system. Hospital records of three dogs,

18. Oral Candida spp. colonization in human immunodeficiency virus-infected individuals
Several yeast species of Candida genus can colonize the skin as well as the mucous membrane of the vagina and the digestive tract for short or long periods. Depending on the host's immunological state and the yeast's virulence, colonization can become an infection, invading the colonized tissues and also disseminating. AIDS is characterized by the host's int

19. Nasal immunization with outer membrane antigens of Neisseria meningitidis B selected for the highest expression of the immunotype of LPS 3,7,9 with monoclonal antibodies and Bordetella pertussis as adjuvants in neonates mice. / Imunização nasal com antígenos de membrana externa de Neisseria meningitidis B selecionados para a maior expressão do imunotipo de LPS 3, 7, 9 com anticorpos monoclonais e Bordetella pertussis como adjuvante em camundongos neonatos.
The natural habitat of Neisseria meningitidis is the human nasopharynx, and the bacterium is transmitted by direct mouth-to-mouth contact or by the inhalation of released mucous particles during close contact. N meningitidis is a Gram-negative bacterium responsible for significant mortality worldwide. While effective polysaccharide-based vaccines exist again

20. Distribuição das fibras colágenas e do sistema de fibras elásticas na camada superficial da lâmina própria da prega vocal com edema de Reinke / Distribution of collagen fibers and elastic system fibers in the superficial layer of the lamina propria of the vocal fold with Reinkes edema
The physiopathological mechanisms underlying Reinkes edema are still unknown and few studies addressed alterations in the fibrillar proteins, collagen and elastin, in extracellular matrix with Reinkes edema. This study was idealized to describe the distribution of collagen fibers and elastic system fibers in Reinkes space with Reinkes edema, comparing with n

22. AVALIAÇÃO DAS SINUSOPATIAS INFLAMATÓRIAS E VARIANTES ANATÔMICAS DOS SEIOS DA FACE POR TOMOGRAFIA COMPUTADORIZADA
Sinus inflammatory disease is one of the most prevalent chronic pathologies of the facial sinuses. It is associated with inflammation of the paranasal mucous membrane, secondary to infection, trauma or allergic reactions. The presence of anatomical alterations in the ostiomeatal compound, that potentially interrupt the ventilation or drainage of the paranasa

23. Partial purification and cinetic-biochemistry characterization of α-galactosidase from Aspergillus terreus / Purificação parcial e caracterização bioquímico-cinética de α-galactosidase de Aspergillus terreus
The α-galactosidase has the potencial to hydrolyze α-1,6 linkages in galactose oligosaccharides (GO). These oligosaccharides are considered the major factors responsible for flatulence following ingestion of soybean and other seed legumes, due to the absence of this enzyme in the intestinal mucous membrane of men and monogastrics animals. Therefore

24. Bioatividade do grão de amaranto : avaliação in vitro da atividade ligante de acidos biliares e inibidora da enzima conversora de angiotensina. / Bioactivity of the amaranth grain : in vitro assessment of the binding bile acids and inihibitory activity of the angiotensin converting enzyme.
Amaranth has been highlighted as an excellent alternative or complementary source of food protein due to its balanced amino acid composition. The culture of amaranth has been introduced into Brazil on account of its optimum nutritional (high protein content and better biological quality than that of cereal protein) and functional quality, apart from its agri
