13. Female urinary incontinence and sexuality
ABSTRACT Urinary incontinence is a common problem among women and it is estimated that between 15 and 55% of them complain of lower urinary symptoms. The most prevalent form of urinary incontinence is associated with stress, followed by mixed urinary incontinence and urge urinary incontinence. It is a symptom with several effects on quality of life of women

14. A reduced, yet functional, nectary disk integrates a complex system of floral nectar secretion in the genus Zeyheria (Bignoniaceae)
ABSTRACT The genus Zeyheria (Bignoniaceae) comprises only two species, both of which have been described as possessing a reduced and non-functional nectary disk. Despite the importance of this evolutionary change in the floral nectary, these functional assumptions have been based on disk size and on the distribution, abundance and histochemistry of corolla-b

15. Urease Inhibitors of Agricultural Interest Inspired by Structures of Plant Phenolic Aldehydes
The plant phenolic natural products (PNPs) protocatechuic aldehyde, syringaldehyde and vanillin were used as platforms for obtaining four urease inhibitors. Urea (urease substrate) or thiourea (urease inhibitor) core was added to the structure of newly synthesized compounds to provide inhibitors up to 230-fold more active than the PNPs they originated from.

16. Behaviour under Impact of Mixed Adhesive Joints for the Automotive Industry
Abstract The automotive industry is increasingly using adhesive joints bonding advanced lightweight materials to reduce vehicle weight. Strength under impact loadings is a major concern for this application and mixed adhesive joints can effectively improve the joints by combining stiffness and flexibility on the same overlap. This work introduces and studies

17. Producing BiI/BiOI Thin Films via Chemical Bath Deposition
In this paper, we tried to describe a different method for producing BiI and BiOI thin films, which is chemical bath deposition on glass substrates. Structural and optical properties of BiI and BiOI thin films were examined using X-ray diffraction (XRD), scanning electron microscope (SEM), and UV-VIS measurements. Film thicknesses of the films were measured

18. Longitudinal data assessment of global stability index in kale leaves
ABSTRACT Kale plants are usually sold “in natura” in street markets and malls. Kale leaves can have their appearance compromised by dehydration and discoloration due to increased post-harvest time exposure. We aimed to analyze the Global Stability Index (GSI) in kale accessions by means of repeated measurement analysis and curve grouping as a complementa

19. Eosinophilic ulcer of the tongue - Case report
AbstractEosinophilic ulcer of the oral mucosa is a rare, self-limiting, chronic and benign lesion of unknown pathogenesis that affects the oral mucosa. We present the case of a 65 year-old Caucasian female with a fivemonth history of a painful ulcer on the lateral side of her tongue. The ulcer was not adhered to the underlying structures and there was no evi

20. Mixed effect models for predicting breast height diameter from stump diameter of Oriental beech in Göldağ
Diameter at breast height (DBH) is the simplest, most common and most important tree dimension in forest inventory and is closely correlated with wood volume, height and biomass. In this study, a number of linear and nonlinear models predicting diameter at breast height from stump diameter were developed and evaluated for Oriental beech (Fagus orientalisLips

21. Airline customer loyalty through analysis of stated preference
Abstract This study evaluates airline customer loyalty and estimates the switching costs for a domestic airline route in Brazil through a stated preference survey. Several structures of discrete choice models were tested to represent the choice of behavior: multinomial logit, mixed logit random coefficients, multinomial logit incorporating systematic variati

22. Robust Optimal Control Applied to a Composite Laminated Beam
ABSTRACT: This paper proposes an active vibration control technique, which is based on linear matrix inequalities, that is applied to a piezoelectric actuator bonded to a composite structure, forming a so-called smart composite structure. Serendipity-type finite element, based on first-order shear deformation theory with rectangular shape, eight nodes, five

23. Audiological Findings in Patients with OculoAuriculo-Vertebral Spectrum
Introduction Oculo-auriculo-vertebral spectrum, also referred to as Goldenhar syndrome, is a condition characterized by alterations involving the development of the structures of the first and second branchial arches. The abnormalities primarily affect the face, the eyes, the spine, and the ears, and the auricular abnormalities are ass

24. Effect of the processing parameters on the crystalline structure of lanthanide orthotantalates
The influence of the synthesis parameters on the crystalline structures of orthotantalate ceramics has been investigated. Powder materials were prepared by the solid-state reaction route. X-ray diffraction and Raman scattering measurements were employed to investigate the crystal structure of the produced materials. In this work, we analyzed three different
