1. A metanandamida, um agonista canabinóide, protege a linhagem de neuroblastoma neuro2A da morte celular induzida por peróxido de hidrogênio. / The methanandamide, a cannabinoid agonist, protect the lineage of neuro 2A cell death induced by hydrogen peroxide.
Neurodegenerative diseases are progressive disorder affecting specific neuronal populations in the central nervous system, leading to neuronal death. Several factors contribute to the development of neurodegenerative diseases, including increased free radical formation and / or oxidative stress. The cannabinoid system has been suggested as an important syste

4. The endogenous cannabinoid anandamide inhibits human breast cancer cell proliferation
Anandamide was the first brain metabolite shown to act as a ligand of “central” CB1 cannabinoid receptors. Here we report that the endogenous cannabinoid potently and selectively inhibits the proliferation of human breast cancer cells in vitro. Anandamide dose-dependently inhibited the proliferation of MCF-7 and EFM-19 cells with IC50 values between 0.5

5. Heteromeric TASK-1/TASK-3 is the major oxygen-sensitive background K+ channel in rat carotid body glomus cells
Carotid body (CB) glomus cells from rat express a TASK-like background K+ channel that is believed to play a critical role in the regulation of excitability and hypoxia-induced increase in respiration. Here we studied the kinetic behaviour of single channel openings from rat CB cells to determine the molecular identity of the ‘TASK-like’ K+ channels. In
