1. Theoretical Calculations on the Mechanism of Hydrogenation of Diphenylacetylene over Pdn (n = 1-4) Clusters
Diphenylacetylene (DPA) is a precursor of stilbene and benzil, and reduction of DPA or its derivatives with metallic reagents is both an old and contemporary topic of research. By means of density function theory (DFT) calculations, a detailed investigation of the mechanism of the hydrogenation of DPA over Pd clusters was carried out at the molecular level.

2. Phytosociological Survey of Sugarcane Crop Weeds in Different Agroecological Areas in Tucumán Province, Argentina

3. DETERMINAÇÃO DE Al3+, Fe3+ E Cu2+ PRESENTES EM SOMBRAS DE MAQUIAGEM POR ESPECTROFOTOMETRIA UV-Vis: UMA PROPOSTA DE EXPERIMENTO CONTEXTUAL EM NÍVEL SUPERIOR DE ENSINO
Metallic oxides are used in cosmetic shadows formulations in order to highlight the area around the eyes, with different colors. Due to the close proximity to the eye mucosa, these products are a potential source of metal intoxication in human body. Based in this fact, several analytical methods to quantify metals in cosmetic shadows have been proposed in th

4. A study of the metallic silver dissolution with the MEA-NH3-Cu system
ABSTRACT Leaching of silver from minerals has been studied for decades. Recently, research has been focused on the substitution of cyanide (because of its high toxicity) from hydrometallurgical operations. In this sense, the development of alternative-green leaching solutions for the recovery of metallic silver from minerals and urban mines is necessary. In

5. Protección antiincrustante de estructuras sumergidas mediante recubrimientos formulados con 7-hidroxi-4-metilcumarina
ABSTRACT Biofouling settlement on submerged structures such as ships, buoys, farms, off-shore platforms and meteorological stations induces economic losses as a consequence of material deterioration and withdraw from service. Environmental regulations focus on the use of environmental friendly products to replace metallic biocides included in antifouling pai

6. Carbothermic reduction of Electric Arc Furnace Dust via thermogravimetry
Abstract Electric Arc Furnace Dust (EAFD) is a solid waste originated from electric steelmaking furnaces. Currently, according to some authors, there is an estimated generation of 15 to 25 kg of dust per ton of steel produced. The formation of the dust is related to the following steps of the process: furnace charge, metal volatilization, iron vaporization u

7. On the Fluorescent, Steric and Electronic Factors Affecting the Detection of Metallic Ions Using an Imidazolyl-Phenolic Derived Fluorescent Probe
The imidazolyl-phenolic probe used at the present study has its photophysic properties regulated by a tautomeric equilibrium. After the absorption of a photon, an excited state intramolecular proton transfer process generates a ketonic species, responsible for the 440 nm emission (in CH3CN/H2O, 95:5, v/v). Addition of Cu2+, Al3+, Cr3+ and Fe3+ suppresses emi

8. Phosphorus-Zinc Interaction and Iron and Manganese Uptake in the Growth and Nutrition of Phalaenopsis (Orchidaceae)
ABSTRACT: Visual symptoms of Zn deficiency, induced by excessive P applications, have been observed in commercial orchid nurseries. The supply of other metallic micronutrients, such as Fe and Mn, may also be inadequate in the plant due to high application rates of P. The aim of this study was to investigate this interaction in the nutrition of Phalaenopsis p

9. Distribution of Cu, Fe, Mn, and Zn in Two Mangroves of Southern Brazil
ABSTRACT This study assessed the relation between Cu, Fe, Mn, and Zn in the soils of the mangroves of Antonina and Guaratuba, on the coastline of the State of Paraná, and in the leaf tissues of A. shauerianaR. mangle, and L. racemosa through the analysis of correlation levels between these two compartments. Leaf samples were collected for ten individuals of

10. Use of Biodiesel Press Cake Waste to Prepare Fe/Carbon Reactive Composites for Environmental Applications: Removal of Hazardous CrVI Contaminants
In this work, Ricinus communis L. press cake waste from biodiesel production was used to produce a versatile reactive material for environmental applications. The biodiesel cake waste was impregnated with FeIII at different concentrations (19-45 wt.%) and treated at 400, 600 and 800 °C. Mössbauer, X-ray diffraction (XRD), thermogravimetric analysis (TG/DTA

11. DISPOSITIVOS DGT MODIFICADOS COM MATERIAIS ALTERNATIVOS PARA USO NA ESPECIAÇÃO DE ELEMENTOS TRAÇO
The use of MT-K10 Montmorillonite immobilized onto agarose was investigated in this work as an alternative binding phase in Diffusive Gradient in Thin Film (DGT) devices for the determination of metallic labile species. In addition, agarose itself was also used as the diffusive phase. The percentage of sorption of Zn2+, Cu2+, Cr3+, Mn2+, Cd2+, Pb2+, and Ni2+
