13. Quitosana modificada quimicamente atraves de cloretos organicos e o uso como fonte em remoção cationica / Chitosan chemically modified with organic chlorides and the use as source in cationic removal
The biopolymer chitosan was submitted to a series of reactions, with the purpose to explore the free amino group reactivity polymeric chain through reactions involving organic chlorides and primary amines compounds. Isophthaloyl dichloride and cyanuric chloride were used in the modifications, following by reactions with ethylenediamine or diethylenetriamine.

14. Thermodynamic and kinetic studies of cadmium adsorption from aqueous solution onto rice husk
The adsorption behavior of rice husk for cadmium ions from aqueous solutions has been investigated as a function of appropriate equilibrium time, adsorbent dose, temperature, adsorbate concentrations and pH in a batch system. Studies showed that the pH of aqueous solutions affected cadmium removal with the result that removal efficiency increased with increa

17. Biosorption kinetics of Cd (II), Cr (III) and Pb (II) in aqueous solutions by olive stone
A by-product from olive oil production, olive stone, was investigated for the removal of Cd (II), Cr (III) and Pb (II) from aqueous solutions. The kinetics of biosorption are studied, analyzing the effect of the initial concentration of metal and temperature. Pseudo-first-order, pseudo-second-order, Elovich and intraparticle diffusion models have been used t

18. Retenção de metais pesados em solos agricultáveis do Estado de Goiás / Retention of heavy metals in agricultural soils of the State of Goiás
The intensification of the use of land for farming has caused great concern, mainly due to the impacts that these activities are causing the environment, particularly with regard to its contamination by chemicals. The application of chemicals and waste ground and in several, or in plants in order to take agronomically solid waste, improve productivity and in

19. Competitive biosorption of nickel and copper ions on alginae and algae Sargassum filipendula / Bioadsorção competitiva dos ions niquel e cobre em alginato e alga marinha Sargassum filipendula
Environmental biotechnology studies have been conducted using alternative materials in order to eliminate heavy metal ions from industrial effluents. Brown algae are an attractive materials, due to their large availability and their reduced participation in the vital functions of marine ecosystems. The main structural polysaccharide of the brown algae is alg

20. Cádmio, chumbo e níquel : teores em fertilizantes fosfatados e fracionamento e sorção em solos do Rio Grande do Sul / Cadmium, lead and nickel: levels in phosphate fertilizers and fractionation and sorption in soils of Rio Grande do Sul

The employment of local soils for extraction of metallic elements was evaluated through batch tests to treat wastewaters generated in a petroleum refinery plant in southern Brazil. Clay and organic carbon content and clay mineralogy provide these soils, in principle, with moderate metal retention capacity. The following retention order was established: Cr3+
