1. Wave passage effects on the seismic response of a maglev vehicle moving on multi-span guideway
As a seismic wave travels along the separate supports of an extended structure, the structure is subjected to multiple-support excitation due to seismic wave propagation. Considering the seismic wave passage effect, this paper describes seismic analysis of a maglev vehicle moving on a multiply supported gudieway. The guideway system is modeled as a series of

2. Controlador nebuloso por modos deslizantes adaptativo
In this work, an Adaptive Sliding Neurofuzzy Controller was proposed and its parameters had been established and well characterized. In this way, some concepts of the theories of neurofuzzy networks, sliding mode control and adaptive control had been treated. The considered controller presents only three inference rules and a low computational effort. It was

3. Estudo do controle uni-axial do mancal de levitação magnética do tipo atração para potência nula (ZPC, zero power control). / Control study of uni-axial magnetic levitation bearing type attraction to zero power (ZPC, zero power control).

4. Active magnetic bearing applied to a tubular linear induction motor.
A tubular linear induction motor applied to onshore oil exploitation, named MATÆOS (which is in the Portuguese acronym for Tubular Asynchronous Motor for Onshore Oil Exploitation) was built at Escola Politécnica da Universidade de São Paulo (EPUSP). Its purpose is to directly drive the sucker-rod pump installed in the down hole of the oil well. In continu

5. Avaliação do efeito de tratamentos superficiais na resistência à corrosão de magnetos de Nd-Fe-B / Assessment of the effect of surface treatments on the corrosion resistance of Nd-Fe-B Magnets.
Nd-Fe-B magnets produced by powder metallurgy are highly susceptible to corrosion due to their complex microstructure and intrinsic porosity due to their fabrication process. Moreover, these magnets have excellent magnetic properties and find many applications. In the nuclear area, permanent magnets based on rare earth transition-iron-boron (Ne-Fe-B) are use

Modeling and linear control of a permanent magnet levitation system.

7. Nonlinear H-infinity controller applied on electromagnetic suspension system: project and implementation on fixed-point DSP.

9. Desenvolvimento de modelos discretos de Volterra usando funções de kautz
This work investigates the modelling of nonlinear systems using the Wiener/Volterra models with Kautz orthonormal functions. The Volterra models constitute a generalization of the impulse response model to describe nonlinear systems. Such models require a large number of terms for representing the Volterra kernels. However, this complexity can be reduced by

10. Mean field J C estimation for levitation device simulations in the bean model using permanent magnets and YBCO superconducting blocks
This work presents a mean field estimation of JC as a bulk characteristic of YBCO blocks. That average JC allows a good fitting of the finite-element-method (FEM) simulation of the levitation forces to experimental results. That agreement is quite enough for levitation requirements of device projects, at short gaps and zero field cooling process, within the

11. Intelligent controllers for dynamic systems with state and input constraints and subjected to model uncertainties.
This thesis deals with the control of nonlinear systems governed by nonlinear state equations of the form =f(x)+g(x)u with state and input constraints, and subjected to model uncertainties. Classical linearization methods lead to adequate results when the model is accurate and the reference signals are well-conditioned and have low amplitude. However, this m

12. Stable magnetic field gradient levitation of Xenopus laevis: toward low-gravity simulation.
We have levitated, for the first time, living biological specimens, embryos of the frog Xenopus laevis, using a large inhomogeneous magnetic field. The magnetic field/field gradient product required for levitation was 1430 kG2/cm, consistent with the embryo's susceptibility being dominated by the diamagnetism of water and protein. We show that unlike any oth
