1. Physics-Based Design of Microstrip Magnetic Dipoles Using Cavity Model
Abstract This paper presents an efficient technique of microstrip magnetic dipoles design that explores the physics ruling the antenna behavior not restricting to parametric analyses in a full-wave simulation software. The proposed approach makes use of the cavity model whose parameters are progressively enhanced by using full-wave electromagnetic simulation

2. JUDD-OFELT ANALYSIS OF Tb3+ AND UPCONVERSION STUDY IN Yb3+-Tb3+ CO-DOPED CALIBO GLASSES
We report on the study of the spectroscopic properties in Ytterbium-Terbium (Yb3+-Tb3+) co-doped calcium lithium borate (CaLiBO) glasses, with the study’s focus being on the upconversion process. Intensity parameters Ωλ for CaLiBO:Tb3+ are determined by the Judd-Ofelt method to be Ω2 = 15.5 × 10-20 cm2, Ω4 = 1.90 × 10-20 cm2 and Ω6 = 3.69 × 10-20 c

3. Dynamic Arrays Based on Magnetically Controlled Particles: Synthesis and Application
Growth mechanisms of dynamic granular arrays based on magnetically controlled particles are presented. Method of the external rotating magnetic field (ERMF), based on a dipole interaction of magnetic spherical Fe3O4 particles in highly ordered volume arrays is proposed and a design for its practical implementation is developed. The magnetic assembly can resu

4. Characterization of CBD-CdS Doped with Some Rare Earths III (Eu3+,Ce3+) as Function of Synthesis Time
Rare earths (Europium, cerium)-doped CdS nanofilms are prepared using the growth technique chemical bath deposition (CBD) at the reservoir temperature of 70±2°C varying the synthesis time in a wide range. For the rare earths doped CdS nanofilms the synthesis time was ranged from 80 to 135 min. The rare earths molar concentration was in the range 0.0≤x≤

5. Scattering analysis of planar electric and magnetic dipoles in multilayered chiral structures
This paper describes a model for the analysis of multilay-ered chiral structures containing planar electric and magnetic scattering elements of arbitrary shape, illuminated by an elliptically polarized plane wave. The particular case of a single chiral layer is analyzed and the scattering matrices for single and dual electric and/or magnetic dipole distribut

6. Study of excitations in a Bose-Einstein condensate / Estudo de excitações em condenados de Bose-Einstein
In this work we study a Bose-Einstein condensate of 87Rb under the effects of an oscillatory excitation. The condensate is produced through forced evaporative cooling by radio-frequency in a harmonic magnetic trap. The excitation is generated by an oscillatory quadrupole field superimposed on the trapping potential. For a fixed value of the frequency of the

7. CONSTRUCTION OF AN COMPACT SQUID MAGNETOMETER FOR CHARACTERIZATION OF THE MAGNETIC NANOPARTICLES USED IN BIOLOGICAL ASSAYS / CONSTRUÇÃO DE UM MAGNETÔMETRO SQUID COMPACTO PARA CARACTERIZAÇÃO DE NANOPARTÍCULAS MAGNÉTICAS UTILIZADAS EM ENSAIOS BIOLÓGICOS
The immunoassay is an important tool in clinical diagnostics and in fundamental research. Magnetic nanoparticles, bound with antibodies, have been applied increasingly for various immunoassays with the purpose of separation and quantification of antigens. We developed a system based on bulk SQUIDs for detecting the field generated from remanent magnetization

8. ARQUEOMAGNETISMO NO BRASIL: VARIAÇÕES DA INTENSIDADE DO CAMPO MAGNÉTICO TERRESTRE NOS ÚLTIMOS CINCO SÉCULOS / ARCHEOMAGNETISM IN BRAZIL: INTENSITY VARIATIONS OF THE EARTHS MAGNETIC FIELD FOR THE PAST FIVE CENTURIES

9. EEG spike source localization before and after surgery for temporal lobe epilepsy: a BOLD EEG-fMRI and independent component analysis study
Simultaneous measurements of EEG-functional magnetic resonance imaging (fMRI) combine the high temporal resolution of EEG with the distinctive spatial resolution of fMRI. The purpose of this EEG-fMRI study was to search for hemodynamic responses (blood oxygen level-dependent - BOLD responses) associated with interictal activity in a case of right mesial temp

10. Berry's phase in the two-level model
We study the adiabatic evolution of a two-level model in the presence of an external classical electric field. The coupling between the quantum model and the classical field is taken in the electric dipole approximation. In this regime, we show the absence of geometric phases in the interacting two-level model in the presence of any periodic real time-depend

11. Simulation of geomagnetic reversals through magnetic critical models
We use numerical simulations of a well-known phase-transition model to study reversals of the geomagnetic field. Each ring current in the geodynamo was supposed to behave as a magnetic spin while the magnetization of the model was supposed to be proportional to the Earth's magnetic dipole. We have performed a size-dependence study of the calculated quantitie

12. Soluções analiticas para o acoplamento de um fluido e um dipolo magnetico massivo em relatividade geral / Analytical solutions for a fluid coupled to a magnetic massive dipole in general relativity
We derive analytical solutions of the Einsteinfs equations for two different cases: The first one, a static case, in which a charged fluid is around a mass with extreme magnetic properties of the dipole type. This solution reduces to the Gutsunaev-Manko solution [Ts.I. Gutsunaev , V .S. Manko Phys. Lett. 5, 215, 19851 in the abscense of the charged fluid. We
