2. The Mutagenesis of Lactobacillus Thermophilus for Enhanced L-(+)-Lactic Acid Accumulation Induced by Heavy Ion Irradiation
ABSTRACT Screening promising L. thermophiles with high productivity, high efficiency and strong adaptability are very important in lactic acid industry. For this purpose, 80MeV/u carbon ions were applied to irradiate L. thermophiles. After high-throughput screening, a mutant, named SRZ50, was obtained. Different carbon sources or nitrogen sources were provid

3. ASSEMBLY OF LOW-COST LAB-MADE PHOTOREACTOR FOR PREPARATION OF NANOMATERIALS
In this paper, a low-cost and versatile lab-made photoreactor was constructed for the preparation of nanomaterials such as gold nanoparticles and reduced graphene oxide. The power of the lab-made photoreactor can be easily adjusted according to the number of lamps turned on. Moreover, the lab-made photoreactor allows the utilization of different sources of i

4. DEGRADAÇÃO FOTOCATALÍTICA DE ATRAZINA NA PRESENÇA DE CATALISADORES NANOPARTICULADOS
Atrazine is a persistent herbicide and several studies have detected their presence in drinking water sources. In this work the atrazine photocatalytic degradation was investigated in aqueous solution using TiO2, ZnO and TiO2/ZnO catalysts. The catalysts were synthesized by Pechini's method and characterized by X-ray diffraction (XRD) and scanning electron m

5. Effectiveness of Five Biosolids as Nitrogen Sources to Produce Single and Cumulative Ryegrass Harvests in Two Australian Soils
ABSTRACT Biosolids have been produced by various stabilization processes of sewage sludge, but little attention has been given to the effects of such treatments on their effectiveness to supply nitrogen for plant growth. Here, we investigated these effects by cultivating Lolium perenne (ryegrass) in two Australian soils, a sandy Spodosol and a clayey Oxisol.

6. Synthesis of 3-(1H-1,2,3-Triazol-1-yl)-2-(arylselanyl)pyridines by Copper-Catalyzed 1,3-Dipolar Cycloaddition of 2-(Arylselanyl)-3-azido-pyridines with Terminal Alkynes
We present here our results in the synthesis of eleven new 3-(1H-1,2,3-triazol-1-yl)-2-(arylselanyl)pyridines by copper-catalyzed azide-alkyne cycloaddition reactions. The reactions were performed in the presence of catalytic amount of copper(II) acetate and sodium ascorbate using a mixture of tetrahydrofuran/water (1:1) as solvent at room temperature in air

7. Tratamento de efluente tÃxtil utilizando o processo foto-fenton / Treatment of textile effluent using photo-fenton process
The aim of this work was to study the performance of the photo-Fenton process using both the artificial UV and solar sources on the textile effluent treatments. Preliminary photo-Fenton experiments for mineralization and degradation of organic and inorganic pollutants as well as of synthetic dyes were carried out in order to assess the best experimental cond

8. Espectroscopia de cavidade ressonante tipo Ring-DOWN supercontinuum resolvida no tempo para detecção de multicomponentes gasosos / Supercontinuum Cavity Ring-Down Spectroscopy For Simultaneous Detection Of Multicomponent Gases
In this work, we present a variation of the technique CRDS (Cavity Ring-Down Spectroscopy) to obtain simultaneously a multicomponent absorption spectrum in a broad visible range. This new approach uses the Supercontinuum (SC) spectrum (resulting from irradiation of nonlinear media by femtosecond lasers, or simply generated by compact sources) as a light sour

9. Análise morfológica e da resistência adesiva dos tecidos dentais duros irradiados com lasers de pulsos ultracurtos / Evaluation of dental hard tissues irradiated with ultra-short pulsed lasers. Influence on surface morphology and microtensile bond strength
The development of restorative dentistry has reached the era of esthetic adhesive restorations and minimally invasive approach, for which innovative techniques and advanced materials are constantly introduced. Conservative techniques aim not only to remove carious dental substrate, but also to prepare cavity surfaces for adhesive restoration. The main object

10. Comparison of the erosive potential of two acidic sources in enamel and evaluation of treatments for prevention of dental erosion / Comparação do potencial erosivo de duas fontes ácidas sobre o esmalte e avaliação de métodos de controle da erosão dental
Dental erosion is defined as irreversible loss of dental hard tissue due to chemical processes without the involvement of microorganisms. The aim of this study was to compare in vitro the erosive potential of two acidic sources and evaluate the effectiveness of treatments for prevention of dental erosion. To compare the acidic sources, crowns of 5 unerupted

11. Dosimetria de processos de irradiação gama com diodos comerciais de silício / GAMMA RADIATION PROCESSING DOSIMETRY WITH COMMERCIAL SILICON DIODES
This work envisages the development of dosimeters based on Si diodes for gamma radiation dosimetry from 1 Gy up to 100 Gy. This dose range is frequently utilized in radiation processing of crystal modifications, polymers crosslinking and biological studies carried out in the Radiation Technology Center at IPEN-CNEN/SP. The dosimeter was constructed by a comm
