1. Márgenes de la ley: epifenómenos de violencia biopolítica
Abstract This article’s aim is offer a theoretical frame for rethinking forms of state violence implicit in an interrelated set of institutional, administrative and judicial practices dealing with the politics of gender, sexuality and relational diversity. Drawing on the case of post-“equal marriage” Spain, it shows the extent to which the introduction

2. One-Dimensional Thermal Analysis Model for Charring Ablative Materials
ABSTRACT: This paper presents a one-dimensional model for the analysis of the charring ablative materials used in spacecraft thermal protection systems. The numerical method is based on an implicit finite difference formulation of the governing equations written for a system of mobile coordinates that accounts for the possible presence of surface recession.

3. Omniscience and Semantic Information
ABSTRACT First, I consider a few motivations to idealize epistemic logics1 in such a degree that brings up the problem of logical omniscience [LOP]. I argue that the main motivation to hold omniscience is of a philosophical-scientific2 background (Stalnaker 1991), in the sense philosophers have a not so peculiar way of investigating underlying mechanisms, i.

4. Study of Conservation on Implicit Techniques for Unstructured Finite Volume Navier-Stokes Solvers
ABSTRACT: The work is a study of conservation on linearization techniques of time-marching schemes for the unstructured finite volume Reynolds-averaged Navier-Stokes formulation. The solver used in this work calculates the numerical flux applying an upwind discretization based on the flux vector splitting scheme. This numerical treatment results in a very la

5. Towards a philosophy of energy
Transition to a sustainable energy regime is one of the key global societal challenges for the coming decades. Many technological innovations are in the pipeline, but an uncritical appraisal of anything and everything called green innovation lacks methods for testing both the necessity and the sufficiency of these developments. We propose to develop a philos

6. Decomposition approach for generation and transmission expansion planning with implicit multipliers evaluation
In an electric power systems planning framework, decomposition techniques are usually applied to separate investment and operation subproblems to take benefits from the use of independent solution algorithms. Real power systems planning problems can be rather complex and their detailed representation often leads to greater effort to solve the operation subpr

7. Técnica de realidade virtual para manipulação e deformação de superfícies NURBS
The Virtual Reality (VR) mainly deals with the creation of three-dimensional environments generated in real time and made available for multisensory interaction with different devices. A high processing capacity and modeling environments is required for applications of this nature. These applications currently extend to various productive sectors such as ind

8. Avaliação do acoplamento explícito entre simulação de reservatório e sistema de produção / Evaluation of explicit coupling between reservoir simulator and production facilities system
Various methodologies to model the coupling of reservoirs and production systems have been applied in the oil industry in recent years due to the need to model properly the integrated solution of models that represent the flow of fluids through the reservoir to the surface. These methodologies are used to forecast production of multiple reservoirs, sharing p

9. Um estudo comparativo de mÃtodos de simulaÃÃo de tecidos virtuais atravÃs de sistemas de partÃculas / A comparative study of methods for simulation of virtual fabrics with particulate systems
Physically based cloth animation has gained much attention from researchers in the last two decades, due to the challenges of realism and performance placed by the film and game industries, as well as by the applications of virtual reality and e-commerce. Consequently, there have been overwhelming achievements in this area, and several approaches have been p

10. Neural Networks Modelling for Aircraft Flight Guidance Dynamics
Abstract: The sustained increase of the air transportation sector over the last decades has led to traffic saturated situations, inducing higher costs for airlines and important negative impacts for airport surrounding communities. The efficient management of air traffic supposes that aircraft trajectories are fully mastered and their impacts can be accurate

11. Integração numérica de sistemas não lineares semi-implícitos via teoria de controle geométrico / Numerical integration of non-linear semi-implicit square systems via geometric control theory.
This work improves a method to approximate solutions for a class of differential algebraic equations (DAEs), known as systems semi-implicit square. The method, called here MII, is based on geometric theory of decoupling for nonlinear systems combined with efficient techniques numerical analysis. It uses an algorithum that mixes symbolic and numerical calcula

12. The concept of informacional entropy can predict sequence learning, in rats? / O conceito de entropia informacional permite prever a aprendizagem serial, em ratos?
Prediction of environmental events, relying on memories of past regularities, is one of the fundamental functions of complex nervous systems. Sequences of serially ordered stimuli allow extracting information that defines its serial pattern. These patterns allow prediction of the next item in a sequence of events, facultating previous preparation to deal wit
