ABSTRACT The identity, taxonomic history, type series and synonyms of Chauliognathus flavipes (Fabricius, 1781), C. fallax (Germar, 1823), C. axillaris (Fischer von Waldheim, 1823) and C. basalis Lacordaire, 1857 are herein discussed.
